3 Retention Deals

Thanks for replying - at least I will have low expectations now then! Did you keep the free 2gb after your contract ran out, I wasn't sure if this was for life like the rest
Yeah the contract carried on as normal with the free 2gb. Worth noting that I haven't really gone over the contract price in the months leading up to the renewal so probably wasn't going to get offered too much anyway.
Good luck, let me know if you get any decent offers.0 -
currently on a £10 p/m sim only, ends at end of month, regular monthly overspend of approx £10 to £12 p/m
gave notice to cancel, got call from retentions yesterday,
offered
free samsung europa (crud phone!)
300mins
5000 txts
250mb data
all for princely sum of £8 p/m
no new contract term, just rolling and cancel at any time with 1 month notice
declined as wanted a decent blackberry offer but they would not budge!! so will let contract lapse, not sure if retentions wil try again, not to bothered about it though
afsystem install feb 2015......3.78kw
sma sunnyboy 4000tl......14 x trina 270w mono....2 strings.........geo monitor.....location...liverpool0 -
I declined that from retentions and they havn't been back in contact..
250mb is too low really considering how strict 3 are with the allowance. And they might aswell do it as a sim free contract with that shabby phone!
I phoned and asked if they'd match t-mobiles offer through buymobilephones.net (300mins, 5000 texts, 750mb internet, HTC one X 26/month)
She didn't even try to negotiate, just told me that bmp.net weren't a real company and it was a con, said that news about it was on wired.co.uk and ofcom.
I went to both sites and told her I couldn't find anything relating to bad practice by bmp.net on either site and could she give me further info.
She finally conceded she was pretty much lying and then offered me the same deal for £30/month with £100 upfront. Actually worse than the new customer deals.
Don't really understand why they're alright with losing me, paid on time for the last 4 years (since getting the contract) and regularly go over by a few quid through phoning 0845 numbers.
Oh well, off to t-mobile I go - I hear they're rolling out 4g soon.0 -
Yeah, retentions have lost the plot.
They told me the same about phones4u. When I pointed out I have one in my local high street ten minutes away, and I can talk to them in person, they kinda backtracked.
I've been with Three since 2006 and the only thing that makes up for the customer service hassle was always the decent upgrade deals, until now.
Yesterday they offered me all kinds of special discounts which weren't special, most not even matching their web shop. They kept trying to flog me other phones than the one I wanted. And they wouldnt even match dealer Three deals now, let alone other network's deals. After one hour of this they advised me to take out a new contract with Three via the dealer, as on an upgrade they would charge me £7 a month more, duh.
I told them if I had to number port anyway I would just go for a cheaper deal on another network. So have pac code and will be off to O2 or GiffGaff.0 -
I too was told to get the Samsung Note through buymobiles.net
3 wouldn't match the £25 a month for the One Plan with £110 up front for the phone.
Number is being ported to Vodafone by Tuesday am so after 5 years, I'm no longer with 3, for the moment.0 -
I requested PAC code and was offered:
Free Samsung Europa
500mins/txts (mix match)
25 txt addon
Unlimited data
for £11 p/m 24 month contract term
Also originally their Mix/Match plan had 12p pm rates for calls outside allowance this one has 30p pm rate.
So I turned it down. I said I'll go for it if is they give 5000txt messages but they stubbornly refused.
Can't believe it because all other networks are willing giving unlimited text messages. For now I have decided to stay on my rolling SIM only plan. Will look for other deals and request PAC again next month.0 -
took pac code and gone to vodaphone no deals to be had at 3 any more shame as i had been with them 5 years0

Got another call 500 mins, unltd texts and 500mb internet £8/month
Would be good for some, but as I told the lad, I want a HTC X, and as its around £400, the total costs are the same, save for the fact that I'll be paying off the other contract in installments, and £26 in 23 months is likely to be 6percent less than paying it all now!0 -
Got another call 500 mins, unltd texts and 500mb internet £8/month
The start of my 30 day window was yesterday and just working up the enthusiasm to do battle with them and see what they offer.
I might just drop down to SIM only as my Desire is still fine for what I use it for then I can either upgrade later or just buy an off contract phone and use that.0 -
No deals for me either.
I was on text/talk 500 with a desire at 18 pcm. I told them I may leave and go to giff gaff for 10 pcm goodybag sim (250 mins, unlmtd txt, unlmtd data) and buy a phone. They have offered me a £13 pcm sim, 12 month contract all you can eat data, 300 mins, 3000txt and 2000 voice mins). They give me the spiel of giffgaff not being truly unlimited for data. Am thinking about it....not sure yet.
Am approaching my last 30 days of contract so need to decide soon or I will be charged an extra month.......0
