I was contacted yesterday with the same deal, also offered

1 gb Internet
2000 3 to 3
£11 per month, 24 month contract, galaxy Europa.

Apart from the crappy free phone, it's actually worse than what I'm on currently and despite me insisting that I would not sign up for 24 months. I called them back quoting the 12 month quidco t mobile sim only deal, £7.50/ month with £25 cash back but they would not budge.

im on a sim only deal with 3, 300 minutes, 3,000 texts, and 1Gb of data for £15/month.
do they do deals for sim only contracts, or are they only for customers taking a subsidised handset?

I went in and negotiated hard in the "three" shop today in Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. I was already in month 14 of my 12 month contract with Three, so wasn't tied into anything, and basically threatened to take my business elsewhere (no intention of leaving however as my deal was already really good for a tenner!). I have an unlocked iPhone 4, so only need a sim only deal.

Until today, I was paying £10 a month for 300 cross network mins, 3000 text and 1GB data. When I originally signed up to the contract I got £15 cashback for the 12 month contract. So was paying effectively £8.75 a month during the life of the 12 month contract.

Today I was mega-cheeky. The guy in there was really hard to squeeze anything out of.... Amazingly I did get something!!

Now I get:

300 cross net mins to other networks (three hundred)
2000 three to three mins (yes... two thousand!)
3000 texts (yes... three thousand)
1GB data
12 month sim only contract

£10 (yes... ten quid!) a month!!! BRILLIANT!!! :j:rotfl::T

Thats great you managed to get the free three-to-three mins for the same price! Guess every little helps!

If I have read this right then for the same amount a month you just get the additional 3 to 3 minutes which they throw in with every deal at no cost anyway in addition to what you already had?

Looks lie the standard 3 sim only Sim 300 12 month deal, but with the extra 3-3 minutes as shown here http://www.three.co.uk/_standalone/PricePlan_Details?content_aid=1220465117226

Yes that's absolutely correct. All I did was threaten to leave, I am tied into a 12 month contract gain, but for a tenner a month, it's brilliant. :j

I phoned in to day to ask about an upgrade from my HTC desire.
Also partly to ask if my spotify subscription will continue or not if I upgrade. (I got free spotify premium for the contract). Basically I wanted to just get a new phone (HTC One X) and keep everything the same, especially the spotify subscription as that is worth £10/month.

After some convulated discussion involving at one time a conference call between technical and customer service, this is the deal I got.

I am getting 'The one plan'
2000mins
5000 text
3 to 3 allowances
All you can eat data

And my new phone is the HTC One X.
Best of all, it is £25/month for that!

All because I mentioned that if the Spotify subscription cannot be transferred/extended, then I would need to pay separately at £10 a month.
So in the end, they just took £10 off their initial offer (they tried £30 but I said I have to think about it).

So I think basically if any of you are in the same boat as me, then,

Spotify premium will be deactivated.
But you can aim to get £10/month off, so effectively get higher allowances on the one plan, new phone and use that to subscribe to spotify premium. Or not. :beer:

Just called upgrades/retention to inquire about the HTC One X but before I could get a word in, I was offered the following as mines has already expired:

1 month rolling contract@£12/month(300mins 5000text 5000 3to3 1gb data), I didn't bother haggling at this point as I knew what I wanted. I kindly declined as I would rather pay more for extra minutes.

I’m currently on a HTC Desire with VTT1000 + 2GB free data/£5 downloads for £15/month but the guy on the phone informed me that non-standard packages will be changed to one of their existing packages during upgrades (or downgrades!)

I would have to upgrade to either of the following:

ultimate internet 1000
£36 per month
1000mins
5000text
unlimited data
5000 3 to 3 mins
No tethering

the one plan
£38 per month
2000mins
5000 texts
unlimited data
5000 3 to 3
Tethering allowed


No loyalty discounts will be offered even tho I've been with with three for over 4 years (I’ve actually been with three since 2006 over 3 different contracts)

Standard pricing for everyone it seems.

I wont be cancelling as I’ve been happy with Three since I joined in however I am slightly disappointed as loyalty will not be factored into the upgrade process now.


This may only apply to anyone wanting to upgrade to the HTC one series, maybe someone else could inquire if there are loyalty discounts for other handsets such as the S2 / nexus.

Did you already have a loyalty bonus/discount being applied to your account but they are now removing them when it comes to a renewal?
