well well. got my pac and then last night got a call from the super super duper retentions squad.

cause its coming up to the season of goodwill i was selected to receive a very special package ( I kid you not, that was what they said! )

i was offered 300min/150 texts/ 5pounds downloads and 110 pounds of comet vouchers and a new phone! :j

But no data allowance :( and the new phone is actually a refreshed :( galaxy europa :( ( which apparently means its been inspected by a customer but not used and then returned ) and they are charging 1.99 for delivery :(

and its for 10 pounds a month over 18mths, so i have agreed to look at the phone and if its ok stay with them.

they did also offer me a nokia c2-01 keypad phone but those were the only two phones they were willing to talk about.

the alternative deal they offered was for 8 pounds a month, mix of 500 for calls/texts and 500Mb data but it would be for 24mths and no comet vouchers.

so its about a 7/10. the calls and texts are fine but now i will need to make sure the gps etc is switched off and i start using my a2z maps again!

If I dont like the europa I might even sell it and my current portal and buy an Ace or Y.

I was only offered the same deal as whats on Three website when i called customer services. The cheeky call cnetre chap even said if i dont take out this offer within 2 days he will make a note on the system that i am not to be offered any new special offer! (what service!). Seems like this lifelong discount offer is not transferable to a new smart phone contract.

hold off til the new year, you never know, they might be desperate for sales in january. if you get nothing, request your pac and they will probably phone you.

if not, wave bye bye and get a another deal with someone else.

    Jesus!

What contract were you on previously? What was your average monthly spend like?
  • previous contract was 900 minutes, 2ktexts £18/month, only overspent once, by £50 as she was in the USA.

I am, of course, jealous! She did offer to swop her sensation for my desire, but I cba installing a decent rom and all the software on a new phone right now, though I did root and s-unlock hers before she saw it :D

after seeing all people i know with smart phones and what they get up to i am pretty keen (desperate!) to upgrade my phone asap:T

Rang CS and was offered 300mins, 5000text, 2000 3-23 mins, unlimited data with Samsung Galaxy Ace 24mth contract. Plus i need pay £10 fee for finishing my existing contract 2mths early.

Edit - just seen that its the same deal offered as buying online, so no real value. (quidoc offer CB for online and theres a code on HDUK for free accessories).

DAK if one can take an new Three online deal and trasnfer my existing three number to the new contract?

(or can i buy a cheap pAYGO smart phone from CPW and just pop in my sim (300mins/150text and 1GB internet on current SIM. Seen the Galaxy Ace for £130 at CPW with Three).

babymarf - how did you get offered the comet vouchers? which dept did you speak to main CS or retentions?

That's what they were doing to me. Ask for a pac code. Expect a call from the "benefits" department the day after you get sent your pac code

    I don't think that's entirely true.

Perhaps if you're a new(er) customer, but I've been with them for a considerable amount of time and am still waiting for a call from Retentions to see what they will offer. I got my PAC about 10 days ago.

It took me an hour to get my PAC - and even then, the customer service rep I spoke to misled me by saying the code would be sent shortly in a text message. That didn't happen and I had to call a few days later to get it, only to be told that she hadn't sent it at all.

The offers I've been presented with by Three so far are nowhere near what I've been reading about on here (I'd snap their arm off if I had been offered most of them. My spend and package profile is similar to DatabaseError) and are not that different to what a new customer might expect after cashback, or if I was to move to a new network with cashback (I can find a decent SIM only deal with T-Mobile, similar to what I'm on now, for £8 per month).

I might let the contract roll over to monthly and see what's around on other networks in January.

Just spoke to some joker in their retentions unit, offering me the exact same deals that his previous colleagues have offered me, pretending that they're superfabulousawesome and only he could offer them (none of them are really of any interest).

Asked about the SIM 600 package and he'd only offer me that at £15 per month - the same as it is on the website. What a joke. I mentioned about Quidco and cashback, explaining that a new customer is at more of an advantage than a seven-year customer like me. He then proceeded to talk !!!!!!!! about Quidco, assuming they were some sort of mobile retailer and that I'm sort of sort of imbecile.

I'm almost at the point of just wanting to move to get away from their poor customer service and for the way they're not really interested in my business (I am but one person, I know).
  • I've got a £10 per month, 30 day rolling contract SIM only deal. Going to cancel shortly... am I likely to get an offer to stay? Anyone had any dealings with retentions and SIM only?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)
