  • Got my call from the benefits team this morning. Told them the handset I wanted and if advised he could work out a great offer for me, if started off with 500 min 5000 3-3min 1gb data with the sony Ericsson arc s for 23.00, a whole 2.00 cheaper then on line. So I again said there is only 1 phone I want, he straight away jumped in with an iPhone! I politly asked you cannot give me the phone I want can you? To which I was offered everything but the one I want so still on for cancellation next month.

    How many times have others been called? I don't want to wait to long before I sign up else where.

    i was promised a call back after 2 weeks which i never recieved , it was a week later than that when i called them , at this point i was out of contract ,i started the phone call stating that i was ringing to cancel and to get my pac code , after a half hour conversation i was adement on getting this and clearly asked for it , he went of to speak to a manager for a good 5 mins , then came my sim only offer , hope this helps..

    well.... what a waste of time.

    between holding on for 8 minutes to get my call answered, 45 minutes speaking to the upgrade team who offered my exactly what was online, i asked to cancel, after 15 minutes holding i got through to the customer options team - "the exclusive team in 3" they offered me................ a 3 pound discount on a wildfire s. then another 5 minutes hold to speak to a manager and another 20 minutes of waffle i got offered

    500 mix and match mins/texts
    5000 three to three mins
    £5.00 music download
    2.5gb internet for £10.00 month on a 12 month flexi deal

    on my existing handset or any handset i want to buy................ hmmmm

    they were quite insistant on my not cancelling but refused to give me any decent deal.

    all i wanted was a galaxy ace, 300 minutes/ min 300 texts and 500mb for no more than 12 quid. maybe pushing their margins but how much will it cost them to get a new customer?

    87 minutes in all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    was i really unreasonable?

    anyhoo, anyone know of - preferably a non redemption deal - that would get me this with any network?

    id say youre asking a bit much to get that deal. cheapest galaxy ace around at the moment is £129 to buy from cpw (locked to 3); so if you work it out on a 12 month deal thats £10.75 p/m just for the handset.

    the flexi tariff you were offered seems pretty good to me. best i managed to get (after being with them for over 12 years with the same number / contract) was £8 p/m for 500mins or texts, 5000 mins 3 to 3, 2.5Gb data.

    Had a upgrade this month with 3 for the galaxy s2. Would only offer the online deal for £27 a month , 24 month contract. 500 mins, 5000 txt and 1 gig data. Being daft i went for it, thinking now that i should have at least got to retentions first. But all is not lost because the phone did not turn up as expected.

    First thing i noticed was 2 seals on the box from samsung. One had been broken and a new one had been put on top. Ok i thought, maybe someone sent back and now im getting it. I open the box and can clearly see the backs been off, to check imei maybe. The thing is whoever did it made a mess of it. Theres dust and small fibers all under the plastic film protecting the phone. All 4 sides have so much dust they arent even stuck to the phone. It almost looks like someone has put the protective film to one side and been using the phone, then put the cover back on with added dust. They have given me a good excuse to send the phone back and ask for a pac and hopefully a better deal.

    I understand they may send out returned phones, but not with added dust, or mabye fine scratches that i havent seen that could be hiding in wait under the protective film. Im sure i could check the imei number and get the film on with hardly any dust, im not impressed.:( Will ring 3 in a few hours and say i want to send phone back and get a pac. If i get a good offer and take it i will post a reply on the deal.
  • I've just got a good deal off three because I wanted to leave. I've just had a samsung galaxy on an 18 month contract. 200 mins, 5000 texts, 3000 three to three texts and 3000 three to three minutes and internet. Cost per month £10 x 18 = £180, but they have also given me £180 of Comet vouchers so I've all that for absolutely nothing. I will probably sell the phone and the vouchers will come in handy for christmas.

    blimey, how did you pull that one off? they were telling me they have contracts of 100 min then 300, nothing in between.

    Well i got through to what i think was retentions and all they did was make excuses for me to keep the phone, didnt offer me any better deals on the phone so i have my pac code and will wait for a better deal or just buy the phone outright which will work out better for me as i like to upgrade often, 2 years is a l ittle long.

    i have been with three over 5 years and on the lifetime discount offer. Contract due for renewal in January but been told i can apply to renew now. Would like to get a smart phone. I need a least 300mins and 200 texts and at least 1gb net. DAk what i should be looking to pay? is it worth going for a renewal deal now or later?
