What are they offering for the iPhone through retentions? Was on the phone to them for a whole hour, all they could do was offer me the one plan on the iPhone 4 for £35 a month over 24 months minus the upfront cost of £69?
Annoying thing is I 3 offer the best deal on the iPhone, so I can't bluff my way into saying 'O2 have a better offer going' etc0 -
Just got off the phone with 3 this morning. Im currently on the one plan for £20 a month. They offered me the one plan with either the samsung galaxy s2 or the HTC sensation but said the minimum they would accept is £25 for 18 months. My contract is due for renewal at the end of November.
Any ideas? I dont particularly want to increase my monthly tariff, but they were not budging!

I had the same problem last year, my suggestion is that you get the deal with another phone of equal market value (ie cheaper line rental) and then sell the phone and use the proceeds to buy the iphone

My 18 month contract ends in January so I called 3 to find out my options.
I told them I was happy with my existing phone so they offered me -
900 minutes or texts
3000 3 to 3 minutes
3 GB internet access
on a 12 month SIM only flexible plan (whereby I can upgrade to another phone at any time)
at a cost of £6/month.0 -

Quite risky, especially if I can't get a good enough price for it (considering it will be 3 branded and locked)0 -

You're right it is a bit risky but it better than paying an iPhone tariff fir the same thing. Do some research on ebay on those phones offered to you, you may have to cover the shortfall of £50 or so but it's definitely better if you're intent on getting the iphone
