And he said that nobody had ever ever asked him that before on the job and had made his day and in return he would make mine, i was a little sceptical but continued with haggling. He explained that if i were to help me that i would have to take a phone and not just a sim option only as i originally requested and that a 24 month contract would take place. All for £11 per month, think you know what i said!!

The phone retails at around £350 yet the contract comes in at just over £260 over the 2yr contract, I asked him how it worked and explained it's my previous account conduct even though my bills are approx only £35 and have been with 3 for 3 years now. I'm completely over the moon, my advice is too be set on how much you want to spend, find a matching deal and maybe exaggerate a little and praise them for been such a great company, worked for me!!

I'd be willing to pay that much per month for half the allowance you got! AND on top of that you got a brand new phone.

I've been with 3 since they first started out and have had 2 contracts with them since, and I'm always nice to them! If it doesn't work for me, I may have to offer up my girlfriend or something Lol

would anyone be able to tell me how i get through to retentions at 3 , i rang yesterday and was told that i was eligable for a phone upgrade , although my contract does not end until oct 29, all they would offer me was a galaxy ace , i was after the galaxy s , was told that on my price plan that it was not possible , and i told him about the sony experia arc deal posted on here for £11 , he just went on to tell me that offers come and go at 3 and to try at a later date ...!!

You have to vigilant with them and tell them you want to leave 3. This will open doors for you, just pursue and don't take the first offer they issue you with, also bear in mind all calls are logged and it would be a good idea to have a figure in mind, a reason behind it and a reason for leaving, most off all explain you are very happy to remain with 3 however since the deal that you want is not achievable then apologise and say that you have to leave there service.

i get the feeling that am wasting my time with 3 , i have a £8 discount applied to my account and yet they just seemed to forget about that when we spoke , all they wanted to do was get me on a one plan , i can give them 30 days notice on my contract on the 29th of this month , so i guess i`ll be speaking to them agian then.

My contract is due for upgrade in a month. I have a discounted contract which works out as £5.60 roughly per month. The only time I go over this would be for 0870 0840 numbers etc. I have an HTC desire.

Does anyone know if there is anything I could have any luck with upgrade wise? e.g. less monthly cost, new handset (sensation etc)

P.S. I know it's already a very good deal, but it's only got to that stage through hours of calls with retentions and requesting cancellation on numerous occasions down the years, and its always worth trying to get the most from an upgrade. Anyhoo, any ideas? Thanks

I just called and completely struck out. I just finished a 18 month contract for £29 and am a pretty light user. Less than 100 minutes and 100 texts a month plus 1gb and the occasional international call

I was only being offered the standard £10 sim only deals listed on the website. After pointing out that he was not offering me anything special and also what other companies are offering, I got offered this poor deal:
100 minutes or text
200 3 to 3 mintues
500 mb
£8 on 30 day contract

The funny thing is that when I called to cancel my mobile broadband, they offered me all kinds of deals. Now that I want to stay with 3, they are driving me off to someone like Giff Gaff. If they don't call back with a better offer, looks like I will be using my PAC and leaving.

i have just seen on the news that samsung have lost their court case with apple , this meaning that the samsung ace , s , s2 , all have to withdrawn from sale in the uk by sometime in october , hopefully this will help me get the samsung s i want .. got to wonder if 3 will drop the price of the phones online also just to get shut of them !

So they have already called me back and I was more successful this time around.

I directly, but respectfully, said that I knew they make other people better offers and we were wasting both of our time if he could not offer me anything better than their regular website deals.

I took this deal for one month and we'll see if they offer me anything better at the end of October.

I just entered the last month of my contract, so I phoned Three saying I wanted my PAC number as I had found a cash back deal for £5-a-month. The operator put me on hold for a couple of minutes, then came back offering me a deal for exactly £5-a-month (300 minutes or texts, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 2.5GB data). He said it is SIM only for a minimum of 12-months, after which is rolls on at £5-a-month, which suits me brilliantly so I accepted the offer.
