I've just been offered (and taken) the following:

2 * Desire on One Plan
Total monthly cost: £35 for BOTH contracts - not each + one time charge of £30.

One contract is billed at £13 and the other at £22.

Hi how did you manage that? Would LOVE to have that offered, what kinda of plan were you offered before? and how many times did you have to take with CS before they offered that?
  • Well, got through the month after asking for my pac code without anyone ringing me up offering me an amazing deal. Rang up today and just cancelled outright. I feel its a shame as I had no problems with 3 at all.
  • 3 are really bad at the moment for their upgrades. i have always been able to upgrade 3 months early and get a good price and a decent phone, but in the last 2 months have tried to upgrade my mums and my partners and was only really offered payg standard phones or the iphone. i did however manage to get my mum the one plan, sim only for £13 per month, but no luck trying to get a decent phone and a contract for under £30 per month.
  • Three have given me the option of cancelling my contract early for free due to bad signal around my house (due to the 2g switchoff), however I would quite like to stay with them.
Their CS team offered me only a £2 discount on my current contract of £18 a month (already has a £2 discount on it from an offer). If I request to cancel and ask for my PAC code will retentions ring me back?

I found a good deal with o2 for the phone i wanted (blackberry 9780) and so i phoned up 3 retentions and they just pretty much told me that they couldnt match it!

I still have seven weeks left of contract though, and the person i spoke to said he was going to speak to his manager about the o2 deal and get back to me, so im wondering if they might decide to do a similar deal after all.

The o2 deal was blackberry 9780 with 500 mins, unlim texts and 500mb net (plus the blackberry add on) for £25.35 a month, whereas 3 offered me the same phone, mins, texts but 1GB net for £32.00 a month or the older 9700 for £30.00 a month.

But they did keep telling me they could do an 'amazing' deal on the iphone for me, which i wasnt interested in.

Hmm shall see what happens next.

Phoned up earlier on to give 30 days notice on my MiFi 5GB £15/month

Explained to the first person that I could get the bandwidth cheaper. She made a note of that and transferred me to retentions.

Second person I talked to offer me 50% discount (however she also said £8) on a 6 month contract.

    Quite happy with that

can some one tell me what is the 3 loyalty discount I have seen mentioned here and how do you get it? I have a m8 thats been with them for years and years and normally just renews at their " your contract will soon end this is what we will offer you call" and I know he ends up paying more than the year b4 and gets a phone he never wants! he is in his 60's and this year has asked me to help because so many phones have gone over to touch screen and thats no good for him.
He has about 4 weeks b4 contract is up phoned them yesterday all they offered was a Nokia e63 on exactly the same deal as new customers get or 17.99 a month 24 month contract 900 min talk and text mix with a nokia 2730 which can be bought for 29 quid on line, lol not my idea of a retention deal or any form of loyalty bonus

Exactly. If you are loyal you get nothing. You only get a "loyalty" discount when you tell them you're planning on being unloyal. Makes sense, yes? They should call it the "please-don't-run-away discount"

hi al,l went into a 3 shop today, 1 1/2 months left on contract so asked about going for a lower plan this time as not using all I get now ,so only 15 days until I can ask for pac code and still they had a cheek to ask for £3 a month more on the plan for 24 months so a £20 a month plan would now cost me £23 and thats me with them over 5 years ,I even told the sales man that if I cancelled now I would only pay around £50 to end contract ,so could then save £22 and he didnt same to understand what I was saying so now looks like I will move to another network
  • 2 weeks left, no other call yet... Their deals seem person dependent .. I wasn't lucky i guess ...
They used to be cheaper and that's why I was with them, but now they seem pricier than other networks
