My latest offer from 3 -
My current contract - 500 mins, 100 texts, and the internet package I have (was an extra £5 per month) this is more than enough minutes & texts for me as I don't use the minutes & very rarely go over on the texts.
HTC Wildfire
£10 a month for 18 month contract.
Offer made by email so all in writing too!! Just waiting for them to phone me to confirm whether I want this deal or not. Might be cheeky and ask if there's any movement in the choice of phone!!!!0 -
Tesco have a good 30 day contract SIM only deal - 500 mins/unlimited texts/Unlimited data (Fair usage = 500MB) so used that and ideally want something similar but for between £5 and £7.50
After haggling they denied the Tesco deal was 30 days or £10Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

I would say it's a great deal if you have a phone you are happy with, especially if you make use of the tethering allowance which can negate the need for additional mobile broadband.0

I got an offer from 3 retentions about 2 years ago - 250 minutes and 50 texts £5 a month for life. I now text a lot more than that so phoned up CS again recently to change price plan but keep my loyalty discount of £10 per month. As expected got no-where - as of Feb 11th i'm into the last month of my contract. I want the text 500 price plan with free HTC desire (£25 a month) with my loyalty discount applied making it £15 a month. Psyching myself up for the worthless mundane rounds of phone conversations i'll have to go through - (Last time round when i gave my 30 days notice to cancel my contract i was another half an hour or so knocking back his offers - which were the same as i could get in the shops) - before retentions (hopefully!) will phone me back and get me what i'm looking for.0

Im about to try and see what i can get in the way of a rentention deal from 3 - not expecting too much!
Does anyone know if the staff in the shops can also offer you different deals for retention or does it have to be via customer services on the phone??0 -
You cannot negotiate with the staff in store. They can only offer you what is on offer in the store and that tends to be a pound or 2 more than the website.
You have to call them up to get a deal.0 -

Hi Phatz
How did you manage to get that??? I'm really impressed.
After requestion my PAC code, I got a call back and was offered the One plan for 18 pounds plus some random phone (Nokia) which I didn't particularly want as I already have an Iphone 4. The deal was for a 24 months contract. Tried negotiating down to 15 pounds and 12 months contract but the guy wouldn't budge. In the end, he gave me the PAC code without really trying harder and I haven't heard back from 3 since.
I even gave 3 a call back (spoke to customer options team) saying that I would like to talk with that same person to renegotiate that deal further only to be told that they have no record of this and only a few people would ever get a call back from this higher department and it was likely a "one time only" offer. hey would only offer me the one plan for 25 pounds (standard price).
Any advice anyone? Would they call me back with the same / better deal if I remain patient and wait for longer? My PAC code expires on the 11th Feb.
Thanks!0
