    Hi Phatz

How did you manage to get that??? I'm really impressed.

After requestion my PAC code, I got a call back and was offered the One plan for 18 pounds plus some random phone (Nokia) which I didn't particularly want as I already have an Iphone 4. The deal was for a 24 months contract. Tried negotiating down to 15 pounds and 12 months contract but the guy wouldn't budge. In the end, he gave me the PAC code without really trying harder and I haven't heard back from 3 since.

I even gave 3 a call back (spoke to customer options team) saying that I would like to talk with that same person to renegotiate that deal further only to be told that they have no record of this and only a few people would ever get a call back from this higher department and it was likely a "one time only" offer. hey would only offer me the one plan for 25 pounds (standard price).

Any advice anyone? Would they call me back with the same / better deal if I remain patient and wait for longer? My PAC code expires on the 11th Feb.

    Thanks!
I would suggest calling back and telling them you are giving your 30 days notice to terminate your contract. Having your PAC code doesn't mean anything if you're not really going to go elsewhere. When i phoned up to ask for my PAC code the guy happily gave it to me, so i then told him i wanted to cancel my contract and his tone changed, telling me how this was a bad idea, and he was gutted when i told him politely but firmly i was ending my contract. A week before my contract ran out i got a phone call offering me a great deal. All the people you have spoke to so far don't have the authority to give you the deal you are after.

Just got the following upgrade deal from 3.

    The One Plan
    • 2000 any network minutes
    • 5000 texts
    • 5000 Three-to-Three minutes
    • All-you-can-eat Data

12 month flex contract with NO PHONE for £12.54 a month.
So i am able to buy whatever phone i want myself.

Good deal i think, anyone think the same?

I got the same but with a Desire @ £13pm on an 18m but my wife got the same for £22 and she had to pay £30 for the phone.
  • my contract is up on the 24th, got my pac code on xmas eve and im waiting for someone to ring me up with the deal I want! i think i would jump for joy if i got offered a desire on the one plan for £13 a month!

You cannot negotiate with the staff in store. They can only offer you what is on offer in the store and that tends to be a pound or 2 more than the website.

You have to call them up to get a deal.

Thank you, only wondered as i much prefer dealing with a real person! And i asked in store if they would be able to do me a better deal on a BB (this was before xmas) and they said to come back in the last month of contract and they would see what they could do - which surprised me, as i thought (correctly it seems) that all renention deals had to be done over phone.

When I upgraded to an iPhone instore the sales guy rang up to check whether the price could be bettered. In this caes unfortunately not. This appeared to be standard practice as he just made the call without me asking about better pricing

Forgive me not reading all 176 pages. Just a probably stupid question.

My 18 month contract ends soon, and I'd been assuming I would have to shop around to get something else sorted out. However I am quite happy with the phone and package I've got, so is it the case that after end of contract it will just run on, on a month-to-month basis, at the same price and package I took out?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Yes, that is correct. You will switch to a 1 month rolling contract on your current price plan.

Just an update. Been with 3 for a good few years and no call despite receiving PAC - they couldn't offer a SIM only deal that was any better than what was on offer in store. Was going to go with the Tesco 500mins/Unlimited txt and data (500MB) for £10 on a 30 day contract but have decided instead to sign up with GiffGaff..at present you can get a 250mins/unlimited txt and data (no fair usage policy) for £10 for a month until end of March...Basically PAYG with Pay monthly pricing.

Worth having a look at to compare deals.

I have 2 contracts expiring next month, I gave the 30 days notice and asked for pac code. They only offered me the deals that are available for new customers, really annoying as they keep you on the phone for 30 minutes to tell you in indian english what a great offer it is ... crap..
well I'll be moving to t-mobile or tesco ...
I asked for the unlock code for the phone and they want £15 for it!!!
