ok so im at the point where it is the earliest that i can upgrade ie 110 days b4. so i rang this am and was offered the one plan (which admittedly is a good plan) but for £39 a month and the £69 iphone fee. a little irksome as i thought i might get some discount as i have been with 3 for 3 years on a £30 a month plan but heyho! am now off into town to try and actually get an upgrade today as apparently the iphone will not get to me until approx 11th January if i upgrade over the phone!0

upgrade in the last 30 days, you get a better deal.0 -
upgrade in the last 30 days, you get a better deal.
You used to, They are tougher than mutton this year, still no further forward just offering £10 sim only deal.
When i asked for the PAC code, 3 separate advisors told me to put it in writing!!!
My coverage in my home has dropped off all together so they are skating on thin ice as it is!!

well called 3 today for the first time. Cut to the chase and told them which phone I was after blackberry bold. They offered bb9700 to me for £25 free which I didn't think was a good deal considering I can get the 9780 for much less and the latter is a higher spec.
Told them that I wish to cancel and they said I would have a text and call in the next 24hrs and they will issue a PAC code in the next few days which is valid for 30 days. To be honest they didn't try to keep me as hard as I was expecting so customer loyalty is out of the window - I have been with them for 6 yrs and my husband has a contract with them too.
Will see what happens, 30 days is plenty to look elsewhere maybe after Xmas.0 -
requested my pac code yesterday (after 25 minutes of him telling me I can't get a desire for £15 a month for 18 months like my friend 2 months ago got on his "special" deal) and i'm awaiting the phone call to see if they cave in to my demands! will let you know how it goes (and if not, off to t-mobile!)
happy xmas to all!0 -
I was offered
Iphone 4 on 12 month contract
and £229 up front cost.
£32 per month.
Lots of texts and mins but i'm not interested in it.
Anyone had any good offers for the HTC desire HD?
Played with one yesterday and i love it!0 -
well. I'm quite happy
(just have to see if it materialises).
Long story short.
Current plan
iphone 3Gs
300mins
150txts
2gb internet
25 mms
£10 per month. (pretty happy with that)
I rang up in early December as I wanted more txts, now I play with my phone more!
The best they could offer me was the One plan at £25 per month. I'm not due an upgrade as my iphone deal is pretty recentish - summer 2010? So I had to say no, as it's 150% more than I currently pay, albeit for a LOAD more mins and texts.
Just before Christmas 3 rang me to offer me a secondary contract. I was very polite and explained I have no desire for one as I want my current phone and just more txts really.
Cunningly, I just rang after the Christmas rush etc, explaining that I they offered me a new deal but I just wanted more mins and in a way it was a bit rude. With a little bit of chat they offered me this:
same phone (iphone 3Gs)
900mins
5000txts
300 3 to 3 mins
5mb internet
£11 per month.
Now obviously this is a lot better than my current deal but 5mb internet is no good. They offere me a £5 bolt on for 2gb which would make it to £16 in total. Very good.
...but the best bit? when they looked at my account I already have the 2gb internet bundle activated, so I just need to pay the £11!!
I had to ask the lady to confirm it a couple of times. She was very friendly and helpful. I just hope it works out, and something doesn't go wrong somehwere along the lines?
In honesty I've been with 3 for around 6 years now and they have been brilliant in my eyes. I've had broken phones replaced, never lost signal in my usual spots of interest etc.
I just hope I haven't jinxed myself, as I don't want to be back complaining. I think being assertive yet very friendly makes all the difference rather than the old "if you don't meet there deal I'm off".

As we have said before, the best way to check that your deal is going through as expected, is to phone them again and ask them for the details of the offer as you have forgotten. If they quote the offer correctly, it is very likely that it will go through okay. If they quote something different, then you have the chance to correct it.0

My current 18 months contract is due to end on 8 March, been on phone to 3 this morning just to test the water and managed to get an iphone 4 16gb on upgrade for £349 upfront and £20 per month on a 12 months contract with 300 mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data. I was offered much more expensive deals to start with but when I said I will cancel and move to tesco, I was offerred this deal. Although I still had just over 2 months left on my existing contract, they have also set me free from that for a small charge of £7.84 and said my new 12 months contract will start from today. I am very pleased with it myself as overall it is going to cost £589 for 12 months which is the cheapest I can get from anywhere, what do people think of this?0

The 3 retention deals depend on sheer luck.
Obviously they say it depends on the deals they have at a particular time. But it also depends on who u talk to. For my last upgrade, i.e. 18 months ago I wanted a nokia 5800 for £15. I called them up, no joke this, about 15 times in 2 months. I ended up with the 5800 for £12.50.
This time around I have made my first call. They aint giving me anything better than that advertised on the website!!. So I guess I will have to keep on calling them every 5 days or so till I get the HTC desire for £15. They say 24 months deals are the only ones they do. Interesting to see that some of you have managed to get a 12 months deal.0
