I had cancelled as after 20 months with them [18 month contract] no good deal was offered [I wanted a Desire] and had an end date of 2 Jan.

Called yesterday and they offered me 600 mins flexible for £5 a month on 18 month with a Sony Zylo phone. Already got a Three E71 so not too bothered about phone. They said £5 a month for life if I continued plus a new phone.

For a fiver a month I said yes until I see somethjing that I would prefer.

I think its Good deal - how much were you paying previously?

  • Just read the last page of this thread as I wanted to compare it to the three deal I recently signed up to:
    £8 for 18 month
    500 Mins/Texts
    2GB Data
    300 3 to 3
    Free Nokia 5230

Sold the 5230 on ebay, and once ive taken into account ebay and paypal fees, the contract works out £4.40 PCM.

Could have has the same deal but with only 300 mins/texts for £5 PCM ( so would have cost less than £2 per month) but needed a few more mins&texts for my usage.

£20 a month with Nokia E71 with 200 mins, unlimited texts and internet.

After reading the other deals I'm starting to think otherwise. I've actually gone onto a Tesco Pay Monthly £10 [500 mins, unlimited texts and internet] but can soon cancel that with one month notice.

I wish 3 had just offered what I wanted as I spoke to a fair few and the deals were no better than the web. Cancelling took 9 calls as 5 passed me to someone else, three operators hung up on me and finally I got someone who was decent. Might have to go through that again this week *shudder*

    oh well

just got off the phone to 3 - what a joke!!!

I got offered the 1 plan with iPhone 3G for £37 per month on a 24 month contract. I currently pay about £25 - £28 per month, as I do sometimes go over my text allowance.

I asked about my loyalty discount that I have been getting for the last 5 or 6 years of £15 per month and got told that any upgrade to my contract means I loose all of my loyalty discount, my current price plan is obsolete!

She then told me that they don't do 12 or 18 month contracts AT ALL anymore and haven't done since June and that anyone who has taken out a contract thinking it's 18 months should check!!!!!

Then got offered the HTC Wildfire for £21 per month on a 24 month contract on the Internet Texter 500 plan - it's only £20 per month to buy online anyway. I asked about this and she said it's not letting her offer me this deal so I said I may as well buy it online and cancel my contract if that's the case and still be £1 a month better off!!

She could find no offer of the previous offer of the Sony Ericsson Hazel on my 12 month half price contract saying it can't have been offered to me cause it's not coming up on her screen to allow it to offer me.

I asked about the Samsung Galaxy S got told I could have it on a contract of over £30 per month - no loyalty discount but on my current plan I could have it if I paid £300 for the phone - told her that it's on Tesco Mobile for 12 month contract and £150 for the phone so why should I stay with 3????

I told her that I would wait until next month which is the last month of my contract and if the deals offered were anything like she was offering me I would ask for my PAC and go to another supplier if they're not going to offer me any incentive to stay

Having got nowhere I eventually requested a PAC code and received a call back. They offered:-

    300 minutes/ texts
    300 3x3 minutes
    2gb internet
£5 a month on an 18 month contract.

They even offered me a Nokia 5230 which should cover the cost of the contract.
  • just thought i would share this with you

i was going to upgrade my mobile with 3 as coming to end of my 18mth contract , anyways i went instore and was told i could upgrade ok and told them i wanted to stay on same contract if possible which was ok , i was offered a selection of phones and bascially its the same del as a walk-in would get and also same as online and if i use a cashback site i could potentially get £100 CB , i am going to go back and try again for a better deal as i have been with them for 5yrs and thisnk i deserve a better deal

any tips would be greatly apppreciated:beer:

You cant do any negotiation in store so if you want a discount out will have to phone them up.

I'm leaving three to move to a cheaper SIM-Only tariff on Tesco but before asking for my PAC (on 11th December), they offered me a deal for £11.50 with 600mins, unlimited text and 1gb net which sounds like a bargain for anyone who already has a good phone but I'm not sure if it was a long term contract or rolling deal:o
