since contract ends on 29th..do i have to require puk or just let it finish ..that in case i wanted to move to other network?

Depends what they offer you. If you're happy with what you're offered, then there's no need. PAC is sort of a last resort, I guess. And trying more than once is a good idea - what you get offered seems to have about as much to do with what the weather is doing as it does anything else. And to cancel the contract you need to tell them to cancel it, in writing I think.
  • I've just upgraded my contract with 3, as an existing customer i was able to get the iPhone 4 for 12 month at £20 per month. Ok so the handset cost me £349, total £589. I think is a good deal for only a 12 month contract.
  • Well i asked for my PAC code yesterday and three called me today with a couple offers.

I was after a HTC Desire, yesterday the best they were giving me was :-

    Free phone
    £25 PM
    unlimited txt
    unlimited 3 to 3
    500 flexi minutes.
    500MB

Im not a heavy user and my current contact is

    £13
    300 flexi minutes/txt
    300 3 to 3
    2GB internet.

Never really go over my allowance.

    Three offered me today

    Free HTC Desire
    £12 PM
    24 month contact
    300 flexi mins/txt
    5000 3 to 3
    500MB

Dont really like 24 month contacts so after 10-minutes of back and forth got and agreed to the following.

    Free HTC Desire
    £15pm
    18 Month contact
    300 flexi mins/txt
    300 3 to 3
    2GB internet

Am really happy with this deal, i know the desire is not the very latest but its going to be light years ahead of my Nokia 5800 :o)

If you call 3 to ask for a pac code... and they try to retain you with an offer for a new deal.. will they do another credit check on you?
  • managed to haggle today with three finally.
it seems like they are selling potatos...
yesterday i called morning and they said 23 for the one plan with bold 9700.
i said no and hanged up.. they called after 4 hours saying 25!.. i asked for puk code and said im feed up with these tactics and they forwarded me to the retentions which decided the best deal is 27 a month...
i mentioned that i have had 3 offers from 3 today and yours is the most expensive and your prices are like wind up torch..the more i stay on phone the more you charge me .so hanged up straight away
today i was waken up at 11 am with 20 pounds a month offer lots of minutes and texts, and the bold now works with skype aswell weeheyyy

Short answer, no. So long as you've been ok paying 3 over the course of your contract, your history with them shows you pay regularly. If not, then I dunno, Tbh.

As stated before, the retentions offer you get is based on your profitability. The more they make from you in profit the last 12/18 months will determine how low a monthly rate they will offer.

Take two people on the same deal. The person who is regularly under using their minutes will get a better deal than someone who uses most of their minutes each month. No business will make a guaranteed loss.
  • And the person who goes over their minutes regularly will get what seems like a cracking deal on a number of minutes and texts which ensures they still go over each month, and can continue to be fleeced by the moneygrabbing mothers, albeit with the incentive of a shiny. While it may be true that Shiny thing make it all better, take heed!
  • I had cancelled as after 20 months with them [18 month contract] no good deal was offered [I wanted a Desire] and had an end date of 2 Jan.

Called yesterday and they offered me 600 mins flexible for £5 a month on 18 month with a Sony Zylo phone. Already got a Three E71 so not too bothered about phone. They said £5 a month for life if I continued plus a new phone.

For a fiver a month I said yes until I see somethjing that I would prefer.
