3 Retention Deals

Good morning
Have been with 3 for about four years and have been paying £15 pcm
for 500 anytime/network mins (no texts) and i rang up to ask for my PAC
as my contract comes to a end on dec 2nd.
after some fun haggling i have got a new nokia 2730, 2000 anytime/network mins, 5000 texts, 2000 landline mins,1gb internet and 2000 3 to 3 mins for £11 pcm 24 month contract.
not bad??????

That's a good package albeit with a cheap handset.

just done my upgrade spent 50 mins on the phone at the end got

2000 text
3000 3 to 3
3gig net
nokia n8 for £95 18 months contract
£7.50 pm

I know I have posted a few of my endeavours on here but this one I had to share

previously mentioned 'sim only' deal with a difference - (the guy's words not mine)
200 mins, 3000 texts, 3000 3to3 and 2gb internet - £10.00 per month.

But also with this Mr Duffy you can have a phone! okay you've engaged my interest...

the deal I have mentioned plus a 'refreshed' nokia 5230...wait for it £49.99 :rotfl:

Just said unless it was 'refreshed' with wifi, at least a 5mp camera and android I wasn't interested...

so then came the killer deal - the same tariff with an E5 (wife's preference) for ........£159.99, err hold on couldn't I just buy that from your website? yes but you wouldn't have the tariff I mentioned...at which point I barely thanked him for his time and hung up....I have given up with this as it's a joke...wonder when the 'premier league' team will call me back,

One question I do have though is if I step it up a gear and ask for my PAC code will I lose my loyalty discount of £5.00 per month? I kind of have to stay with three despite all the grief over the years as everyone I know is with them - I have heard mixed reports about losing the discount and don't want to chance it until I know for certain

I'm in a similar position but now have 4 pac codes and waiting on a call for over a week now . . . have had at least four contracts continiously with Three since they launched in the Uk but not looking good at the moment.


Two are now cancelable and two I'm going to pay up.

I got nothing from them at all - Just website deals.... Have now moved to Tmobile and coverage is far superior where i live and work

Am on a £20 300mins/3000text and 1GB Internet deal that is up on Jan 1st. Contacted them to find out when my contract expires and had 2 calls from them but not offering much different than their website.

1st call they offered Nokia E5 for the same deal over 24 months. Couldn't believe it as had been with them for 5 plus years.

Decided to buy the Orange San Francisco phone for £100 (+£20 compulsory top up) from the Orange shop. Great Android phone and well recommended. Have unlocked and upgraded to Android 2.2 and makes my old Nokia E71 look like a dinosaur. Got £70 for the E71 which has part funded the new phone.

Second call from 3 tonight - told them I was only interested in SIM only deals and sales just quoted "special" deals which were the current SIM 10 and SIM 300 deals that they are currently offering in their shops. Pushed for sub £10 for 300 mins/3000 texts and 2GB internet and they wouldn't budge.
Trouble is 3 have the best deals and only T-Mobile comes a distant second.

Will try again in a couple of weeks when I will be in a stronger position.

Ring up and tell them that you are leaving - Say you have decided to go onto PAYG with another provider and they should offer you a better deal.

Thanks, hadn't thought of threatening the PAYG path, top idea and will give it a try.

My 3 contract is about to come to an end and, naturally, want a new phone. I am on £15, free Internex Max add-on, 3000 3 to 3 mins, 100 mins and 100 texts. Got a Nokia E71 and looking at either Blackberry 9700 or Nokia E72 haven't decided yet.

Last time I upgraded I think I got a pretty good deal, but that time my husband was on 3 and we both treatened to leave them, now he will cancel as he has a work mobile. Contracts seem to have got worse, barely find any 18 mths all 24 now and for more per month.

Is it worth going to a three store and ask about upgrading? I know both those mobiles are on £25 pm but I am not paying that! I am trying to avoid calling 3 cs :mad: as they are useless, I think last time was on the phone for over 1 hr and I hate it!

Thanks in advance. If anyone gets a similar deal would love to hear from you.
