Hi I got offered this today, my contract expires on the 15th Feb so have a few months left yet but I'm getting a bit impatient.
These phones were all on the
500 xnet mins
5000 txts
5000 3to3 calls
1gb Internet
The phones they offered were....
HTC desire for £22
HTC desire HD for £27
Samsung Galaxy £25
I tried my hardest to quote other deals I had found but they did not seem to want to know I had found deals for £20 a month on 3rd party websites like omio as they could not compare with them.
My limit is really £20 a month as I'm trying my hardest to save money, just hope I have a better deal on the table soon!!
You won't get offered much better than that (if anything) until the last month of your contract. Three even say as much on their website. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I'd be looking for something similar to what you've just got, can I ask what phone, contract and price plan you were on before this upgrade.
I currently have a Nokia E71 on Mix&Match 500 (£18/month) plus X-series silver internet bundle (£5/month). Works out at £13/month once the loyalty discount is taken into account.
Whilst negotiating I mentioned that I was thinking of switching to the T-mobile £20/month HTC wildfire deal if 3 weren't able to beat it. I also mentioned that I though t-mobile is going to have better coverage than three because of the recent merger with orange.
Upgrading this time was relatively painless. 18 months ago it took 90 minutes of haggling, this time was all done in 15 minutes, makes me wonder if I should have held out for more!
I forgot to mention that I was also offered the Desire HD for £20/month but I didn't fancy increasing my line rental that much.0 -

I'd like that but maybe with a few more mins, do you think 500gb web would be enough for a month?0 -

I think they might have given me Internet Talker 500 (500 minutes, 5000 texts) at the same price if I had argued for a bit longer. I'll be fine with 500MB but YMMV, since I got a phone with wifi I've found I use a lot less bandwidth per month as podcasts typically download over wifi at home or work. It really depends on your usage pattern and how much you'll be in range of a wifi connection.0 -
I had a new deal from Hutchinson 3G back in June this year.
I was coming to the end of my second 18 month term with them, I decided to be proactive and contact them to ask for a better deal.
Finally i was connected to their Rentention Team (Customer Options) and after being told they could give me this that and the other including a new phone, I expressed the fact that i did not want a phone as i only wanted a 1 month term.
After some continuos blagging, I managed to get a deal for ;-
- Free Voicemail
- 2000 3 to 3 mins
- 3000 texts
- 300 cross network mins
£12.00 per month, which i accepted also managed to ring up and get my grandma the same deal.
- might give them a call tommorow to see if i can get any other discounts.0 -

5000 texts! I wonder if anyone ever comes close to this! Shows they can just give the texts away for virtually free these days.
Were you quoting any other deals from other networks or were you just arguing about your loyalty to them?
I like to know the most I can before entering into battle with them!

I mentioned my existing loyalty discount and said that if they couldn't maintain it I'd be looking at moving to t-mobile.
SMS texts have always been almost free of cost to the mobile networks (an executive once said they're the closest thing to printing money ever invented) it's just that competition is finally forcing the networks to stop ripping people off.0
