Just wondering if you get a better or worse deal in the 3 Shops rather than on the Phone?
I personally I'd like to deal with a person face to face (can't get cut off if you're on to a good deal!)

  • You would get a good deal through the retention team. I just read this thread about an super Iphone offer with Comet vouchers thrown in. I am now thinking of calling 3.

Santander : 17 year relationship, 0 problems to date.
  • When dealing with retentions it is always best to make a note of what the offer is that you accept. Then within 24 hours contact retentions again and ask them to quote to you the contract details that they have. If what they tell you is correct then all should be well. If they are different to what you agreed to, then you can cancel and start negotiating again.

I was coming to the end (today) of my £20 texter (200 minutes, 3000 texts, 5000 3-to-3 minutes, Internet, Skype) deal with 3 on an E71.

Keeping the same phone, I've got the same deal for £10/month on a 12 month contract.

Having said that, I'm now wondering whether this was absolutely the best deal they could do; I didn't have to mention PAC code or leaving, just go silent when they initially offered only a £5 discount. Pressing option 4 for 'end of contract' I got the impression I was through to retentions, it was certainly a dodgy line to somewhere foreign.

My mix and match 1100 contract finishes on the 16th December, I just called them again to see what sim only deal they could offer.

Only offer on the table is The One Plan for £13 per month. 12 month contract, upgrade at any time.

Not too bad to be fair, wonder if they'll offer anything better?

When I called last month they offered Mix & Match 1100 plus 100 extra mins / texts and 1Gb internet for £13.75

    Hi,

Need some advice. Me and my other half has an mix & match 500 contract in which she can upgrade in next month and I can upgrade in December.

OH - currently paying £10.50 pcm. I think the normal line rental was £18 but she has a discount on her contract.

ME - currently paying £5.50 pcm - I have been a customer for long time and currently have 2 discounts on my account.

Anyone paying these kind of amount every month and what upgrade offer did 3 offer?

Did they try to remove the discounts?

I do understand the amount we are paying we shouln't be getting very expensive phone - especially myself as I am only paying £5.50 but just wanted to know what others were offered.

    Thanks
    MS

    Evening all.

Rang upgrade/cancellations tonight. I wanted to know how much an upgrade to an HTC Desire HD would be. I'm on a £20 texter 18 month plan. This is my first contract with 3.

    I currently get

    200 xnet mins
    3000 txt
    2000 3-3 calls
    Unlimited internet (fair usage applies)
I don't really use my current allowance and the family all have handsets on 3.

    1st offer

    Free HTC Desire HD
900 mix n match minutes or txts
    5000 3-3 calls
    1 GB internet
    24 months
    £33 p.m. inc VAT
    33x24 = £792

    2nd offer

    Free HTC Desire HD
900 mix n match minutes or txts
    2000 3-3 calls
    2GB internet
    24 months
    £41 p.m. inc VAT
    24x41 £790

Haggled some more in a good natured way. Put them on hold while I consulted with her in doors etc.

    3rd offer

    £100 HTC Desire HD
    200 mins xnet
    2000 3-3 mins
    3000 txt
    2GB Internet
    18 months (upgradeable after 14 mths + 10 days?)
8GB Memory card in the box (I imagine I would get that anyway) Just checked it is LOL.
    24 month extended manufacturer's warranty
    £20 p.m. inc VAT
    18x20=£360 + £100= £460

Insurance was £9 p.m. extra this is a standard rate apparently and is determined by a third party.

This looked pretty good to me considering I've only been a customer for just over a year and a sim free handset seems to be about £450. Downside it comes in Mocha and not Black. Not released in black over here yet!

The guy I spoke to was called Garesh if I caught it right.

    What do you think?
  • Good enough if you do not use that many minutes.
  • Re callbacks. Has anyone had a callback from the UK team lately.??

Have 4 PAC codes ordered and waiting the obligatory couple of weeks.

Have had some cracking deals over the years, customer since the beginning. 08 got me a nokia n95 8 gb free and last year I managed an iPhone 3G for 100 quid. All on my £5/ month deal + £5 x series add on.

I didn't get a call back from the UK last year and just wondering if they have stopped that.

Their opening gambit on the iPhone4 was just matching tesco offer with a little discount,

I've had the first of 4 pac codes for a week and no call as yet, were ringing before I requested the pac (but with so-so offers) but nothing since.
