    Phone 2
    Iphone 4 16GB
    500 xnet + 5000 3-3 mins
    5000 sms
    120 Video mail
    Free voicemail + Skype-Skype + Live messenger
    £32 per month (12m contract) + £229 upfront

That looks a very good deal. Given the retail cost of the 16gb (£499), it works out that you are paying £9.50 a month for your calls etc.

Is Skype definitely included? The woman I spoke to yesterday said that the free Skype calls weren't part of the iPhone tariffs and any use would come out of my data allowance.

Emailed the Executive Office about my issues yesterday afternoon (twenty past one, just checked). Still waiting for a reply. Ho-hum...

Sorry, I just copied and pasted that line from firstdeal. It's not included, only free voicemail is there.

  • that does look good and makes me hopeful!
  • how long have u been a customer?
  • Well, I have two contracts with 3. One has been since 2006 other since 2007.

With 3 you have to be very careful, they say that they have spoken to their manager and carefully carved a good deal for you when in reality that very same deal is offered online. That's where you catch them.

In part of my email to the Executive Office I've queried their upgrade policy. It seems to me that when trading in a market that is saturated they should be just as keen to keep their current customers as they are to attract new ones. From what I was told on the phone on Wednesday, however, this doesn't seem to be the case at present. It'll be interesting to see what their response is.

Also be very careful when getting the facts about your new tariff, I was told that they would 'let me have' the plan I'm on now (Internet Texter £20) for £10 per month with 2gb data instead of 1gb.
Girl then said you can upgrade your handset at a 'later date' I specifically asked if it was a rolling contract to which she replied yes. I nearly signed up there and then but have had my fingers burned in the past.
Anyhoo I called back later that night spoke to a gentleman who advised that it was actually a 12 month contract.

They will say anything to get you signed up - always ask for the deal in writing first.

Anyone else found that they have 2gb internet anyway? I did this morning and they haven't fiddled with my contract??
