Called them again today, contract ends Nov 11th
They still couldn't do anything near that, in fact they couldn't even beat the £25 / 24 month they had offered previously.

Have to wait till i'm in the last month I guess...

I would count on getting a deal like that, even within the last 30 days.

I negotiated in the last month and still couldn't get a similar deal.

I ended up asking for my PAC at the end of my contract, with 1 week left of my PAC period I still cant get a similar deal on the Galaxy S OR the Desire :(

weird isn't it,not sure why some people get deals which are soooo much better.
Don't mind moving networks if i have to though, and maybe the release of the desire HD & Z will bring prices down a bit on the Galaxy S, we'll see!
  • About the Premier League Department, I got through to them and they man was telling me how the system recognises some numbers according to their tariff and told me I was a high valued customer since I was spending :

    £20 a month
    Nokia E71
    2000 Texts
    2000 3-3 mins
    1GB internet
    E-mail Add-On

Although..he did start off giving mecrap offers but then tey got better and managed to net myself a free HTC Desire, 12 Month contract (if I pay a one-off of £30) 5000 texts, 3-3 mins and 2GB internet, with 1200 mins, all for £22 a month!

Like other posters have said, play the game, keep it calm, if not, hang up and call again :rotfl:

I think it is pot luck on what they offer you.

I have two contracts with three and spend on average £40-50 a month and have never been offered a deal like this, even from retentions!

Looks like they do not want me as a customer :(

    Well done!

A "Premier League" customer because you spend £20 a month? I think someone has been blowing smoke up your posterior! :p I know people who spend £500-£1000 a month on their mobile bills. I wonder what "department" sees to their upgrades?

Still, you got a good deal and that's all that matters in the end.

The department where they shaft people
  • Fairly painless call today (in fact so painless I suspect I could have done better). I'd seen a sign in town outside the 3Store (Merrion Centre Leeds) offering Samsung Galaxy (S I thought, though on the phone they insisted it would have been the Portal) for £20/month with 300mins/lots of texts/1Gb internet or similar.

    Phoned upgrades who offered me:
    Samsung Galaxy S - free
    500 minutes
    5000 texts
    Usual pile of skype/windows live/3-3 calls (5000 I think)
Unlimited 1Gb internet (it's interesting those were the exact words)

    - for £35. I refused and asked for a PAC, put through to retentions who immediately knocked off a tenner and added 50 MMS. So above deal for £25 on a 24-month contract.

Given the £15 deal above I wonder if I could have persuaded them to £20 but this is as good a deal as I've seen available easily and I think playing the long game would have made my blood boil eventually.

    "The Gullible Fools Department"?

Exactly the same deal I was offered on the phone last week. I turned it down as I am on a £20 texter plan at the moment with
    — Add Text Unlimited
    — Add 3To3 Calls
    — Add Internet Max (Contract Term)

I don't need 500 mins xnet or 5000 txts so why pay extra for it? When I said I wasn't interested she tried to tell me I was getting more air time and more txts. That's true I said but I don't need them. I also said I didn't think many mobile phones last for two years without developing some sort of fault and she said they where covered for two years by Three. I don't know what "covered" extends to? She asked me if the term was bothering me and I said yes she then dropped it to 18 mths. I still declined and said that the new dual core smartphones are likely to be around at xmas when my contract ends. I wait to see what they will offer next. :-)
