Dont want to knock them too much, but three CS are well know for being economical with the truth.

I had a lot of hassle last year when I was offered 2gb internet, and the tarrif never exsisted.
They now add two internet packages to your account for this to work, but last year no one knew anything about it, so I lost out.

Three CS have improved over the past couple of years, but I am a customer of old, and others have their own stories too.

waiting for a call form retentions at the moment, had a call today from the number 05666 ?!
didn't answer it as thought it seemed a bit dodgy, they left a message saying in was 3 and to call them back.

Anyone had experience of this phone number?
even if I had answered it, wouldn't feel comfortable giving them any info when they call on this sort of weird number!
  • Well I made a second call, and explain to the CA what situation was and if there was any truth in what the previous guy said. He put me on hold as he conferred with his manager and when he came back said he could not guarantee the price but if I did that in a month it would be cheaper than £32, also before he asked the manager I did explain my doubt about not wanting anything to go wrong and be stuck on a tariff or told I have to pay more than the upgrade offer to get onto the one plan, he genuinely got my point, and when I asked about the whole premier league thing from retentions he did say that was the team that dealt with high valued customers.

But will have to wait and see, and hope I don't get screwed.
  • I rang again yesterday and the deals were no better than my previous 2 attempts and eventually chose to go on a 30 day rolling contract at £10/month with 100x-net mins, 2000 3-3 mins, 3000 texts and 2GB 'net. (14 days to change my mind).

This morning I decided I wasn't happy with it and rang back to cancel and asked about delivery times for iphone 4 (as my phone is barely working and I'm going away at the weekend so would like new phone before then) but the guy said it'd be at least a week. He then asked what other phone I'd consider; I said HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy S.

He said there was nothing he could offer me for the Samsung but could do the Desire at £21/month for 1200x-net mins, Unlimited texts (3000), Unlimited 3-3 mins (5000) and Unlimited 'net (usually 1GB but would give me 2GB) plus messenger and whatnot. To be delivered tomorrow. I accepted this.

    What do you think?

    :)

I think this is a decent offer, i suspect that the demand for the Desire might be weakened tomorrow with the announcement of the new HTC Desire HD.

Yeah, that crossed my mind but still quite a good deal I thought. I probably could do a little better if I held out and kept trying but I am in quite desperate need of a phone asap and I know people do rate the desire... I figured if I don't like it I could sell it and get £200-300 back towards an iphone and it'd still work out slightly cheaper than the iphone deals. :)

  • Got a new HTC desire for £15pm and £114 for the handset. Includes 200min,unlimited txt, unlimited 3-3 calls, unlimited (2Gb) internet. Also got my wife’s upgraded to a HTC Wildfire for £7.50pm on the same tariff + the handset was free!

Just keep playing the game – know what you want and keep quoting other deals you’ve seen. After I rejected the £25pm and £200 for the handset they kept calling back each day with better offers but in the end I phoned cancellations and told them i how much i wanted to pay and got it after about 2hrs of negotiations!

Just upgraded from a Sony-Ericsson c905 to a Nokia E63. Already had £5/month loyalty discount which they maintained so deal was:

    Internet Talker 900: £16/month (24 month contract) - 900 any network minutes or texts, 1GB internet, 5000 3to3 minutes.

This is £2/month cheaper than the deal offered on their website which already has a £3/month discount off the standard rate for Internet Talker 900.

When I called to negotiate I stated that I was looking at a £20/month blackberry deal with t-mobile and would need them to beat that for me to stay with three. Asked specifically for them to maintain the loyalty discount. They agreed to the above deal very quickly. I believe this is because they are trying to get rid of their stock of the E63 which will soon be replaced by the Nokia E5.

Yes, its a Galaxy S. Arrived on Tuesday afternoon. Very very pleased with it. For £15/month for 18months its a steal! I make that £275 I'll be paying and I don't think I could even buy the phone for that, never mind the airtime!

Called them again today, contract ends Nov 11th
They still couldn't do anything near that, in fact they couldn't even beat the £25 / 24 month they had offered previously.

Have to wait till i'm in the last month I guess...
