3 Retention Deals

Yep they are offering all online deals not retention deals. i called them again a while ago and told them that perviously i was offered online deals not retention deals and the guys says i understand blah blah and offered me a deal on Hero same as on the web(again) even though they know i have a pac code. :mad:0

Isn't that the standard "deal"? from the blog:
- £35 Internet Texter, 750 minutes, Unlimited texts, Unlimited internet, free Spotify for length of the contract, 24 months – free phone0 -
My contract was running out so rang them and spoke to Upgrades. I said I wanted the Desire phone, but was told that Three don't carry it. I then said and iPhone and was told the same. After telling him I could see the Three website in front of me advertising the Desire to new customers he told me I was wrong. I then asked to be put through to the cancellations department.
Instead, I got through to the magical "Options Department". There is no direct number for these lot (either that or they're not willing to give it out) but if you get through to them, they seem to be higher-up the food chain and have a certain amount of discretion with the deals they can offer you. After nearly five contracts it's always been the Options Department who've offered me the great deal to convince me to stay.
Anyway, I was again told that Three couldn't offer me the Desire. Apparently they only offer these to "certain customers" - presumably that means new customers or big spenders.
I did however get offered an iPhone 3GS with the following:
£49 Handset Charge
300xnet minutes
3000texts
1gb internet
video minutes (which wont work)
18months at £25/month.
I've had a look around and that seems to be a decent deal, though I would have preferred a Desire - especially since it seems a new iPhone is round the corner anyway.
Any thoughts?
Classic Three. They rang me back today to get authorisation to process the upgrade. I tried to haggle a bit and mentioned a previous poster's iPhone deal - the 24months at £10/month. He was very interested in when this deal had been offered, since apparently it was a Christmas offer and that there are no other iPhone deals available other than the one he offered me.
I still thought I was getting a decent deal (though I'd have preferred a Desire) and gave the delivery address et.c. I then asked for a final run-through of what I was getting and paying for, and he said "all for £35/month".
Typical Three. I'd blame the Indian accent, but yesterday when the deal was offered, I said £25/month back to him a few times and he agreed - he even went into detail as to how the deal was made up of normal line rental + video minutes which will be credited back to the account since the iPhone doesn't support video calls.
An old-fashioned switcheroo. I told him I wouldn't pay that much and his tone quickly changed and without prompting he went into the PAC code process. Not very pleased that they tried to trick me and that I've now wasted over an hour on the phone with them.
My advice - watch out.0 -
On the phone to 3 now, typically, no record of any earlier deals on my account, bloody useless. They can't offer the Desire as they have none in stock. However, they have offered a Hero free for £15ppm, 18mnth, 300 mix 'n match, unlimited internet (1gb)... don't know really0

The Hero is nice and it is due to get Android 2.1 (now pushed back until June) but whilst it is up to the task now, in 18 months time it will look very old indeed.
Having said that, for £15 a month its a tempting offer.0 -

later in the evening miraculously they had stock remaining and was told somemore were coming today (three blog seems to confirm they are getting more stock from a post on the blog yesterday) but because of low stocks they wanted an increased price for the earlier orders eventhough the orders had been placed (with confirmed delivery) on the 15th of april. i refused the change to the orders placed on 15th. dont know what is happening as am waiting for their response after writing to them. Next step in a few days will be to contact 'Which consumer magazine' and 'watchdog' program on TV for consumer fraud (it is a program that i have seen on TV), i will send them a link to this webpage where they will get enough evidence of the scumbags doing miselling of consumer goods and services via their phonelines. Does anyone know the contact details for the ombudsman for mobile phone purchases / upgrades etc?bubblesmoney :hello:0 -
They must be doing deals on Desire's, post from yesterday on another forum. Sounds like I've fallen in to the old trap of believing the bloke at the other end of the line, if I should cancel my order and request my PACI dont know if this will help anyone on 3
I was an existing 3 customer and went to cancel then retentions phoned me up with this deal that arrived a few days ago:
500 minutes
100 texts (Im not a big text user)
free internet
phone for £115
£13 per month (was £30 less £17 discount)
18 month contract.
Seems like a great deal?0 -
Thats just under £20 a month over the term. The deals they are offering seem to be based very much on your usage/length of service.0

Yes I would have taken that deal if offered, but they swore blind that they can't offer anything on the Desire as they have no stock. He even said he *could* have done a fab deal if they did have stock but his hands were tied - not that I haven't heard this before...
Another one:Got 700mins/unlimited texts(or 3000 not sure)/unlimited internet
Handset was £8 and tariff is £26 a month on a 24month deal (only downside really).0
