That looks pretty good actually!

If it was me I'd try being a bit cheeky and see if I could get the phone for free, or the contract down to £20, but that's just me :p

Just been emailed this from Voda via their Twitter account:
24 month contract
600 minutes
Unlimited Texts (Fair Usage Policy of 3000 SMS)
Unlimited Internet (Fair Usage Policy of 500MB)
Vodafone Passport
Free HTC Desire

This would normally cost £30 per month including VAT, however if you take the offer through us, we’ll offer the same for £25 per month for the whole length of the contract. That’s a saving of £120 versus our Online Store price, or £240 compared to a competitor!
Its 30 days to go with 3 for me today so I am going to phone them up and see what they can do to match that after first seeing how close they can get to this:

Good luck. From what I've been hearing though, only certain Three customers are being offered the Desire. I didn't get offered it, and there's been a few occasions during my current contract when I've spent £60+ (without realising it) over my allowance. I thought this would have given me all the options at upgrade time, but obviously not. Strangely, they did offer me the iPhone though.

If they dont match it then I am off. Even though most of the people I talk to are on 3, the 600 minutes will cover the loss of the free 3 to 3 minutes and the txts are unlimited so I wont have to worry about the lack of mix and match allowance.

If I am going to be tied into a 24 month contract then it has to be the Desire rather than the Hero and I have no interest in the iPhone. I have tried both and much prefer the Desire.

the twitter deal seems to be 120£ less than online price.

BUT .... if you go via quidco you will get a cashback of 150£ for vodafone contracts, so the twitter deal is still worse off than the quidco deal

I got the same voda deal by email this morning; called three as i already have the pac code and see if they could match. they started with stocks are low etc etc then offered me their 2 online deals with desire which are sad comparing to voda. then they tried to offer me nokia/x6/blackberry but no desire. voda then....

The Twitter deal they have offered me is a straight £25 a month (so yes £120 total less than the online price). Taking out the 'standard' deal online but via quidco (assuming it tracks) brings this down to £23.75 a month. Not a big difference but a difference all the same.

I have emailed voda back saying that I can get the phone on 3 for £20 a month with a £149.99 up front fee bringing the total over the term to £630 compared to £600 for the twitter only deal so there isnt that much in it, 3 have Skype calls and a greater internet allowance so can Voda improve their offer.

Ok, I called up 3 and the best that they could offer me was:

750 minutes
Unlimited txts
Unlimited internet
Free Desire
24 months
£35 per month

The didnt have any phones in stock at the moment and this is not as good as the Voda deal via Twitter.

However, they also said that if I do not renew my contract at the end of the month then it will continue on my existing plan (m&m 500 at the £10 a month deal that was found 18 months ago) until I give them 30 days notice to cancel.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case as I might do this for a few months until the Desire has been out a few months and the prices start dropping.

unless you give a 30 days notice the contract usually wont be cancelled and will become a rolling 1m contract (if that was what you agreed when you took your contract). So ask for a PAC code which lasts 30 days and if you dont use it, it just lapses and you can get a new PAC code again when needed. I dont think there is any point in the 30days notice as the contract will end at the end of that period even though you might not have found an alternative option. so getting a PAC code would be better in my opinion.

Isn't that the standard "deal"? from the blog:

- £35 Internet Texter, 750 minutes, Unlimited texts, Unlimited internet, free Spotify for length of the contract, 24 months – free phone
