Is this is a good deal?

e63 with 75 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet.

    ....... for how much?

    It's £18/18mth for new customers.
  • My contract expires next Friday. Current deal was 12months, free Nokia E71, 500mins and 100txts, £20/month (inc £10 loyalty discount), with £5 for unlimited internet.

I'm happy with the phone and it is in good condition. Just got off the phone with customer service and the best i could be offered was the £15 sim-only deal available. It is pretty decent: 300mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet. but what really !!!!ed me off is that the same deal is available to new customers, and I wasnt really offered anything for my 5 year loyalty to them.

having said that, out of all the networks that is the best sim-only deal considering it has unlimited internet included. what do you guys think?

    cheers,
    FG

I phoned to cancel my contract today and told them I was moving to the Tmobile PAYG £10 deal (free texts and internet for a month after topping up £10) and was offered the exact same sim only deal as you but for £10/month.

Maybe if you mention the TMobile deal you can get it for a tenner also?
  • FG: I'd stay put and wait for the new year. If you're happy with your E71 - I'm sure come Jan you'll be able to stay on your tarriff, but get a phone upgrade to flog on ebay for 200 quid - that works out more than the 120 quid saving you would get from a fiver a month over 24 months and is cash in your pocket now...

Thanks for that.....funnily enough I rang them again yesterday and the advisor said something very similar with regards to waiting till the new year.

I've been with 3 since 2005 and have upgraded each time through them.

This time I was thinking of leaving them (for real due to poor reception where I live) and asked for a PAC code.

I had to wait for over 20 min and was a tad annoyed.

I told them that I was leaving and I found cheaper deals with Orange.

They offered me nokia e71 on 300 mix&match plus 20min video calls for a little over £13.

Although I'm tied up for another 18 months I've been smiling like this :rotfl:since I hung up.

Just to report back that I was overcharged £4 each month for this upgrade.

I complained about this to customer services from June through to July. They investigated the issue and said that they have No records, No recordings, nada on my account. Since I couldn't produce a recording of the conversation, I will still be charged £17 per month.

Last month I called about internet 10 and asked the helpful guy if he had a recording of my upgrade. He said of course, it's on the my file. So I raised the overcharge issue, he confirmed that I had complained about it before. So I was credited for the overcharge and will have a £4 discount applied to my monthly bill (which I shall report back if unfulfilled).

In short, my upgrade was too good to be true and I wasted LOADS of TIME trying to rectify my situation.

Needless to say I shall move my contract elsewhere next year.
  • please, who ever get a great deal over the phone, ask them you will take the offer, only if they send a confirmation letter by post.
Get the phone, dont open it , be patient check when the letter comes and if its not what they said on the phone , stuff it up to them, or be money wise- call them and tell them , they wasted your time,,, if they said 20 per month, you ask for 17 or you ll send it back.
guaranteed that they ll sign you for 17 quid.

i do this way with three and any company i buy things over the phone

After several phone calls and a call back the best i could do was:

    HTC Hero Free
    £25pm
    24 mnths
    500 mins
    Unlimited Texts
    Unlimited 3 to 3 calls
    Unlimited Internet

Saves £340 over the contract compared to a new customer and £240 to what they originally offered. The last person who I upgraded with had to keep putting me on hold to speak to his manager. My account wasnt a massive spend etc so I am happy with that.

They didn't seem to want to budge with me, and kept saying that is the lowest they could go.

I managed to talk him into giving me a £5 goodwill gesture for the first month, and then when I mentioned it was the festive season, he magically found another £5 to give me. So for this first month on the Sim15 I am paying £5......i've already put in my 30-day cancellation notice in case I see a better deal.

    Cheers,
    FG

Been to 3 today to upgrade our phones and were dissapointed at the phones offered, so after looking arround at other networks found a similar deal with T Mobile with much better phones. Decided to ring 3 tonight to see if they could match the phone and they offered me an amazing deal so we decided to go for it. Both myself and my husband have been with 3 for 3 years and have a £7 monthly loyalty discount so was shocked when they said I could have the deal but my husbands 'credit' wasnt good enough (We pay the bill for both phones out of a joint account religiously) When I asked 'what credit', he explained that my husbands phone credit wasnt good because, he uses his tarrif allowance each month but doesnt recieve many calls from other networks, whereas I dont use as many minutes but recieve more calls and that means that my credit is better. He then said my husband cant have the great deal he had just offered. He then said that my husband would also lose his loyalty discount as well if he upgraded his phone. Has anyone else heard of this, it seems so unfair and not right. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere. The 3 operator kept trying to get me to accept the offer and said hubby should go to T Mobile.
Thanks for getting this far :T

One of you is more profitable to the network than the other (Three receive money each time someone from another network calls you), so you were not offered the same deals - I can't see what the complaint is to be honest knowing that.
