ive got the Direct Video & Talk & Text 500 that expires at the beginning of feb. what phone can I get for an upgrade? ( got a sony 910 that i dont like )
2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,
  • Just like previous posters, I am well overdue an upgrade, too lazy to phone earlier I phoned three through the week and was fobbed off. Unbelievably the girl in the call centre wouldn`t offer me anything that a new customer couldn`t get, it was one of the most irritating phone calls of my life. This was despite being with three for ages, obviously it`s not the girls fault no point in getting fed up with her.
Unable to get anything even remotely attractive I refused to commit to a new contract and am now on a rolling sim only contract.

Maybe three don`t want to retain customers ?

My belief is that to get a better offer you have to start the 'I'm leaving process'.
e.g. I've switched to PAYG and I'm half-expecting a few days before the actual
switch the 'retentions' team may contact me with a better offer (not that I'm
bothered either way). In other words I'm hoping they treat a switch to PAYG
the same way they treat someone asking for a PAC.

I didn't go for the rolling sim contract because I reckon the retention team will
never 'kick in', until you end it.

Last time I made the mistake of accepting what I was offered when I cancelled.
It wasn't a bad offer but I think I could have done better.

Went in to the 3 store to ask about when they might be getting the N900 or Google Phone (or HTC's unbranded version of it), and they didn't think they would be.

Did walk out having switched my price plan to a rolling 30-day £15/mo for 600 minutes and unlimited texts and internet though. Saved me a fiver a month.:) Every little helps!

I've only got 2 weeks left till my PAC code runs out. Does anybody have any experience of when the retentions team calls you back with a final offer?

I've been with them a number of years now, but this whole process of finding the best deal seems to change every time!
  • Their retentions department lied to me. They promised a 50% discount off their lowest tariff. When the letter came through the discount had vanished as "they would lose money".

I said, "fine, i'll send you back the phone and walk away". They then offered me a larger discount to stay. If I get it in writing then ideal.
I do have the calls taped if they change it again :)

    Hi

I'm coming to the end of my contract (27th March I think) after being with 3 for three years. When exactly (date) should I phone to cancel the contract and request my pac code? I have been having problems since Oct and each time I have been into the shop I have been told different dates to phone .
