3 Retention Deals

Have got a 3 contract up for renewal in 30 days. Currently I'm on a discounted tarriff (£30 pm less discount of £20) paying £10 pm for 750 minutes, 100 text, £5 download etc. Actual usage would be about 200 minutes and 20-30 texts only. Unlimited internet isn't included but would like to get it this time around.
Am content with my current handset (N95 8GB) so don't want to spend unnecessary money on a new handset.
Has anyone got experience of what kind of deal you can get WITHOUT a new handset? Ideally looking for 30 day rolling contract, but can live with a max 12month tie-in if it is a good offer.
I have an option to continue my current tarriff without a new contract so wouldn't want to pay more than £10 pm I'm currently paying.0 -
Have been with Three for 3 years. My previous 24 month contract finished earlier in August this year, but I had been lazy and foolishly continuing to pay 30pm. Finally thought I'd do something about it today.
Am planning on heading back home to Oz sometimes next year, so didn't want to be tied down. Rang the retentions team, asking for my PAC, and mentioned that I no longer wanted to be tied down as I was planning on leaving the country.
They said that I was up for a new free phone, so I asked about the HTC which I always wanted. They said the could give me the phone for free on the same plan deal that I had before (500 mins and 100 text) for £23.50 per month for 12 months.
Also asked for internet, so getting 10mb internet per month for extra £2.50 per month.
So ended up with a free phone with 500 mins and 100 texts and internet for £26 pm for 12 months.0 -
I'd more or less given up on 3, after they told me they couldn't/ wouldn't match O2's £19 SIMplicity plan + £100 Quidco cashback. Unfortunately, that deal expired some time during the week. I eventually found a cashback forum where members had mentioned T-Mobile doing 800 mins, 500 txts, unlimited internet, a HTC Hero for 18 months at £21.50.
I called 3 this afternoon, hpoing they'd arrange a callback from their retentions team to see if they'd match the T-Mobile deal. The customer service rep I spoke to initially offered me the crappy £14.50, 500 mins or txts, T715 deal. Told him I wasn't interested and only wanted to know if they could match the T-Mobile offer.
Anyway, after a bit of negotiation and sounding reluctant to take anything he was offering, he offered me the HTC Hero, 500 mins, unlimited txts, unlimited 3-to-3 calls and unlimited internet for £18.25 on a 24-month contract - much better than what they were offering previously! As in previous years, it looks like brinkmanship was what enabled the rep to offer me a better deal. I had something like two weeks before my PAC expired.0 -

Hi all,
I been trying to negotiate a deal with 3 for the HTC Hero but they refuse to budge completely!!
I pay £28pm and have requested my PAC code, I called them back and the woman I spoke with went onto T-Mobile's site and saw the deals for £27.50pm & £30pm over 18 months and completely refuse to match it!!
Is there anything I can do at all? All 3 keep telling me is that there are no offers on this phone at all and 24 months for £35pm is all they will do..
Do I have to give up and go elsewhere for this phone?0 -

Same thing happened with me and I have left them.

been with 3 for many years and the last 2 years i have had a mix and match text and minutes 1100 any network for 25 quid and their best phone.
contract ends end of december and they called and offered to upgrate to sony etc but then offered their blackberry bold 900 1100 minutes or text, unlimited internet at 19 quid. and 12 months contract!
Sounds cheap to me and i use emails a lot but was thinking of leaving three because i have to stand by the window when i m home in order to call.
The downide is , my wife s got an o2 network phone and its worse than 3 when it comes to reception...0 -
That sounds like an excellent deal for the bold 9000, they should be loosing money on it, if you never went over your minutes. Although I would still change network, if you can't get a good signal at your house.0
