To be fair I've been waiting for "The Phone" I want to upgrade to for over a year. There is always "something better" that's "just around the corner".

Probably why I've still got my N95 that's now held together with cellotape..

I am coming up to the end of my deal and can upgrade towards the end of next month.

Everywhere I look phone companies are offering free LCD tvs, PS3's, wii's etc, yet to stay with 3 all I am likely to get is a couple of quid off. I soke to someone at 3 who mentioned that they sometimes offer Comet vouchers or the like as an incentive to stay - does anyone have any experience of this (recently ie not years ago) and what sort of amount did they offer.

I am tempted to stick it, go to Orange and get myself a nice new PS3 to play on, unless I can get a similar value in vouchers from 3. I have been with them around 4 years now and had nothing by way of discount etc ever.

I'm coming up to the end of an 18 month contract (expired end of Nov) and I'm not sure what kind of deal to ask for or if I want to stay with 3 at all. I have an old contract which gives me 750 mins and 150 texts. With a loyalty discount I'm currently paying £21. Although it sounds good, voicemail isn't free and reception is so rubbish, I often waste a lot of those minutes with "hello, can you hear me" type conversations!

If I do stay, I'd like to get the Sony Ericsson W995 - although I suspect that Nokia gives much better reception, but I'd have to pay an extra £59 for that according to the upgrade section on the 3 site.

Any advice??

i didnt use retentions, the deal was actully available online also, but i confirmed over the fone. pretty pleased, 3 love me lol

My upgrades page shows nothing I am on the £15 talker plan with £10 dsicount..so £5 a month!!

I have been out of contract for about 2 months and retentions don't want to know!!

They must love you! I've checked what they'll offer me on VTT500 and it's the cheapest of phones on an 18 month contract, they even want £20 on top for a skype phone on a 12 month contract

Nokia N97 - £294 on a 12 month contract.

I'm still tempted to go for PAYG - don't feel like going for another contract and then I can swap my network as often as I swap my handsets!

lol i feel for you. i was really worried about what deal il get but over the moon now, my total cost for the contract n n97 is a tiny £60 haha.

i guess it was bcos i have been with three for donkeys years, my first contract was very exp (i got cashback though!) for a 6680, then moved on to a big plan with noka n80, after that finished i was offered £20 loyality discount if i took vtt500 without a handset. i done this for 1yr, then got a lg veiwty and now n97 lolol, so about 5years with 3.
