3 Retention Deals

I am 15 months in to my contract now on 500 Mix and Match with a £10 loyalty discount.
I contacted them as I am eligible for discount but first of all he offered a Nokia 5800, which I consider inferior to my N95GB.
I asked for the N97 and the cost he replied with just utterly perplexed me. I could not honestly work out how much he said it was going to cost me per month!
His response was that I take the phone, the letter with it will tell what the plan is and if I don't want it to send it back within 14 days.
As it stands I pay £21 per month for Mix and Match 500 on an N958GB with Internet Max.
When I took out my contract, the N95 8GB was the best phone they had on offer. I cannot see why, now that I am due for an upgrade, the same price will not pay for the best phone they now have on offer, the N97/0 -
I went to the 3 store and on 500 mix and match with Internet Max it is going to be £33 per month.0

Well they rang and offered me a (rubbish) phone and mix and match 500 for £13.50/month for 18 months which was the deal they had online for new customers. I said that I wanted it for 12months as I didn't want to be tied in. The chap went away and rang me back but still said he couldn't do that deal for 12 months.
Perhaps I haggled too hard. PAC runs out this week so better get in gear transferring it.:A :A :A :A

Don't be afraid to call and call again and be prepared to keep calling right up until the last minute that your 30 day notice runs out, I've always waited for their calls, but they don't seem to be making the calls as often these days, I have been very proactive and called them myself until I eventually get the customer service rep who will do the deal, last two deals have been the internet texter plans for £10 a month with E63.0 -
What is the best way to get a retention deal with 3?
The contract ran out in mid August it was an 18 month mix and match 1100 with 300 extra 3 to 3 calls. They are taking roughly £22 a month still but I've just looked on the site and the same package is £27 that must have gone up recently it was only £20 last time I looked at it
What is the best way to go about getting a good deal and keeping the same phone number but with a new phone with a decent camera on it?Thanx

try upgrading online, you shoulkd find you will get a phone and line rental reduced to £13.25 or alternatively cancel your contract giving 30 days notice and do as I do and negotiate the best deal0 -

I actually called vodafone today and have moved as I couldn't really be bothered with 3 anymore. it will cost £15/month but I'm only on a 12 month contract. And I'm either getting a sony ericsson w595 or the w995 - can't remember which they said.:A :A :A :A

My 3 £23.50/month 700 mix and match with 10mb runs out in Jan.
Problem I have with 3 is that they do not offer any phones I want. So as much as I would love to be in a bargaining position when getting my next phone I am likely to not bother. I don't want an N97 and they do not offer HTC/Apple phones.
I have some time before deciding what phone to get and which operator to go for.0 -
I gave up with 3 retentions, they never offered me anything better than was available to new customers and were a nightmare to deal with and didnt listen to a word I said.
According to reports, 3 are to offer the HTC Hero with a Spotify tie-in which might be interesting!
