3 Retention Deals

Struggled with retentions (although it was the indian call centre) - currently on VTT500 for £20 a month. phoned up to cancel.

I really want a Nokia E71.

Was offered a E63 (not as good- plastic and no GPS), and to stay on VTT500 but with additional unlimited internet instead of the £5 of "free downloads" which I dont use.

It was a 12 month contract he was offering.

I said " you've almost got it, just give me the E71 and I'll say yes"

he wouldnt though! So instead gave me my PAC code instead!

Do you think I will manage to get the E71 if they phone me back?

I don't think they will phone you back - certainly not after a PAC request as that means nothing. If you give them cancellation notice then that means rather more.

Contract for 18 months ended on 15th August but three have not contacted regarding any upgrade for the mix and match 1100 (plus 300 extra mins 3 to 3 calls offer at time) which was £18.50 a month with online billing

What is the best thing to do? will they put the monthly charge up automatically now without an upgrade as it was on offer when the contract was taken up?

Don't want to change number again, the same plan is on the website for new users at £20.25 a month but without the free 300 extra 3 to 3 calls

Would really like the phone upgraded though if possible as if they do put the price up for the plan and remove the extra 3 to 3 calls it would be the same as new users but with an old phone or can they put the price down for like sim only and me not have an upgrade?

No pacode has been requested or notice to end contract yet

Phoned them back again - they will let me now have the above - for £50.

Is that a good deal? It seems pretty good

Just needed some clerification:-

I currently have mix & match 500 tariff with 3 with £8 loyalty discount so I am paying £10 pcm. I have entered my details on 3 upgrade section and came up couple of hansets which will reduce my line rental to £5.50. So I decided to make an upgrade to INQ phone.

The email came through saying:-

Monthly charge: £18 minus your loyalty discount of £8 Allowance: 500 mins or texts. Or any mix of the two. Anytime. Any network.
Your Add ons
25% off this handset each month . (£4.50 p/m)
£8 Loyalty Discount (£8.00 p/m)

Three upgrade contact centre do not have this deal on there system - I rang them before making the upgrade online.

Do you think 3 will honour this deal? I am just abit worried that when my bill arrives its not £13.50 normal line rental for new customers.

I am on the same £10 mix500 Nokia 6500, I am coming up to the end. I thought your deal looked good but you are just keeping your £8 discount with a standard phone, surely they should offer you more if you wait til end of contract.

Has anyone got a better deal?

I had £8 discount from my last deal - with INQ I have 25% + £8 making line rental of £5.50 pcm. That costs £99 over 18 months - I dont think any other network providers will match this deal.

Also 3 is not the same as last year - My brother has contacted 3 number of times, spoke to managers etc for better deal on E71 but no luck - at the end he gave them 30 days notice to end the contract to see if he will get a phone call through - this is 2nd wk still waiting.

I could do the same and it is very tempting, I think the phone looks great and I have heard alot about companies tightening their belts.
I consider going to another network (due to 3's poor reception) at a higher price and then it will come down with retentions

Having a quick look through the thread and 2 months ago

Mix & Match 1100
Free Sony Ericsson C510 (worth £110)
£16 per month - 18 months contract
£200 Comet Voucher

Amounts to £88 over the term, it's so difficult as there are so many optons and factors

Of course the £13.5 deal is a limited offer like the 1100 being £20 was, so maybe prices won't go that low again

I've now managed to get 2 accounts onto the £15 internet texter plan for £10 a month, both with E63 phone. The price plan gives 75 mins any network, unlimited 3 to 3 calls, unlimited texts and unlimited internet.

Please can anyone suggest what my options are.

On the Mix n Match 600, for £10 but the phone keeps burning my ear hence its awful. Which retention deal can anyone recommend? Thanks
