called up 3 to find out when my contract ends (of cause i knew when it will end, in 3 months time).. the lady asks why i'm asking this and i said i was planning on cancelling. she then asks for my reasons and i told her that i can find better deals else where..
all of a sudden she offers me 75mins, 3000 txts, 2000min 3 to 3, 1GB internet and a free lg ku990i for £14.xx a month, 18 month contract. it sounded great so i accepted.. but was that the right thing to do? :S
I've managed to get this deal (twice) for £10, took some hard work though.0 -

250 texts
Unlimited internet
Unlimited calls to land lines

I am looking for the same deal (currently on 3). Any idea peeps how much more I should pay to get the Nokia N97?0 -
I want Unlimited data, about 100 texts, maybe some MMS's
Just bought an unlocked iPhone so don't need a phone.
Can you go into a 3 store and negotiate?? I'd rather stay with 3, happy with the signal though data a bit slow at timesWycombe Till I Die0 -
Hi,
Just needed some clerification:-
I currently have mix & match 500 tariff with 3 with £8 loyalty discount so I am paying £10 pcm. I have entered my details on 3 upgrade section and came up couple of hansets which will reduce my line rental to £5.50. So I decided to make an upgrade to INQ phone.
The email came through saying:-
Monthly charge: £18 minus your loyalty discount of £8 Allowance: 500 mins or texts. Or any mix of the two. Anytime. Any network.
Your Add ons
25% off this handset each month . (£4.50 p/m)
£8 Loyalty Discount (£8.00 p/m)
Three upgrade contact centre do not have this deal on there system - I rang them before making the upgrade online.
Do you think 3 will honour this deal? I am just abit worried that when my bill arrives its not £13.50 normal line rental for new customers.
Thanks

told three to shove it where the sun dont shine! no wonder they only have 8% market share!!!
13.30pm: I call 3 to request my PAC code. They asked why and I said I had spoken to Vodafone (fib) and had been offered the above deal. He came back as said he cant offer me anywhere near that much for that price. He wanted about £35. He said Mr Beach86 I have looked through the Vodafone deals and there is no way they will be offer that - "its just too cheap". I left.
14.10pm: I call Vodaphone. Said that a friend had been offered the quoted deal and can you match it for myself? Of course we can! *Shock*. Took all my details, repeated the offer, I agreed, phone will be here on Monday! I had a choice between the E71, HTC Magic, Samsung Tocco Ultra, SE C905, Samsung Jet and Nokia N85.
Amazing! Well chuffed. Thanks judosteffer for reporting your deal!
p.s. it was a slight deal change - 15month @ £20, last 3month @ £40 (as you can upgrade here)...total £23/ month0 -
Hi guys, I'd like to get some of your tips on getting the best deal from 3. I've got an 18 month contract, been with them 17 months, never missed a payment, and they are still only offering deals barely better than the website. So I issued my 30 days notice. Good move? What sort of offers have you guys had?
Is it possible to phone up other networks and get a better deal by informing them I am with one of their competitors, my contract is coming to an end and I could be swayed by a good deal?
Also, can someone give me the rundown on the details surrounding the PAC number? The operator at 3 said if I ordered the PAC code notice and did not use it within the 30 days I would be charged for a following month, or something along those lines?
Thanks,

Did you get your PAC code from 3? When requested you will get a text message with the PAC code and it should tell you when it expires, so if you are on your 17th month, call their cancellations Dep and ask for a PAC.
I would suggest getting your new contract with your chosen network about 15 days later to give you enough time to use up your 18 month's allowance and giving the new network enough time to switch your number, normally this is done within 7 working days, but better be safe than sorry.
I was with 3 for 5 years and when canceling my contract the operator tried every trick in the book, I was actually trying to convince him I had enough of 3 and I wanted out for the best part of 40 minutes. No matter how many times you tell them you want to cancel they keep interrupting and offering something new.
First they offered 15 p/m for 1000 cross network minutes unlimited text, unlimited skype.
When I refused for the 5th or 6th time and 30 minutes of trying to convince him to give me my PAC and dictating him my cancellation notice rights, *at this point I started interrupting him like he was doing for the past 30 min he came up with the following:are you going to let me finish?
For 0.01 seconds I stopped but then I came to my senses and said NO! then he said he would send my PAC code and hanged up. How rude, not even goodbye:p
That was the last time I will EVER deal with 30 -
I am in the same position but haven't given notice yet, so please tell us what you get offered.
What plan and how much do you pay? The most I have had is £2 less than the online price, though they do seem to stick to the website. I have missed payments though i'm not really sure that matters, I think they just say that when offering you something.
One thing thats annoying me is they won't let me keep my discount and move to a more expensive plan. Last time I waited til it got round to the english call centre to accept.
I would ring every network and they will all offer you a discount less than the website.0 -
At this point he lowered his voice and offered me 2000 cross network minutes unlimited text, internet usage and skype for 15 p/m

I don't know the phone but that does sound like a great deal, though I am thinking is it worth sticking with 3 cos its cheaper and putting up with the awful reception.
As for the retentions team I find it funny, they don't have a good grasp of english and they do lie alot. I kept getting the "the reception will be better on this phone" one which never makes a difference.0 -

They told me the same, they even gave me instructions to get the orange signal but no 3G with that setting and I needed 3G. In my case I had to change network, if I was on the phone I couldn't walk around the house without loosing the call. Pretty much stay close to windows while on the phone, quite ridiculous really.
They were offering me a Ericsson phone of some sort with the 2000 minutes deal, didn't pay much attention to it as I didn't want it.0
