3 Retention Deals

  • an update on my three retentions experience:

    1) the best sim-only option they could offer me was £10pm with 500min 100txt for 12mths

    2) therefore it made more sense to take up their offer of a Nokia 6120 (or 6288) with 500min 100txt for £15pm for 12mths...getting a SE w660i would require an 18mth contract (otherwise £17.50pm)

    3) don't wait until there is 24hrs or less to the last day of your contract to take up a retention deal....their system will then only allow you to start the deal 1mth later, with you being on your original tariff (at its original price) for the next 30days

btw, i've been a 3 customer for 3 yrs...£30pm tariff in the first yr, £45pm in the 2nd, and two £35pm tariffs in the 3rd yr....hardly ever exceed my tariffs
  • been with 3 two years, 2nd year contract expires next month, so on the phone to 3 it was.

I wanted the n95 for free for the same price im paaying now (£30 per month), well they basicaly said no so i said right im leaving, they said you will have too we cant give you what you want.

few days later the team from glasgow call, again i battled with him for a hour to get the n95 for free but he would not budge, so i said unless we come to some sort of deal where i get the nokia n95 for nothing or as close to nothing then i was leaving, he then came back to me with this package which i thought was well quite simply worth it.

change my price plan to a personal one which is basicaly i pay £26 per month and they credit my bill with £180 of credit EACH MONTH yes thats every month(so i save £4 per month straight away) but the best part was that he asked me to pay £100 for the n95 (which i did) but because the price plan he gave me was much cheaper then it should be means that i have only realy payed £28 for the n95 becasue of the £4 saving each month over 18 months comes to £72.

Very good deal in my eyes, as it is impossible for a new customer to get that deal, just found out im on the tmobile flext 35 equivelent, works out at £180 credit each month giving 900 voice mins or 1800 texts or any combination.

also my nokia n95 comes with xseries (the free version) which means i get full web browsing for free.

Now thats a deal, all that for £26 per month for 18 months and a brand new spanking nokia n95 for £28
  • Put in 30 days notice offered.

    Three offered:
Year cost £35 7 months at £5 (5 months free)

    300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 video minutes,
25 multimedia messages and £5 downloads, per month,
    on a 12 month contract.

Told them I would think about it phoned today 12 days till
contract expires. Mentioned original offer would not budge
this is best possible deal without a phone.

    Three offered:
    Year cost £120 12 months at £10

    300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 video minutes,
25 multimedia messages and £5 downloads, per month,
    on a 12 month contract.

    >It's a common thing for 3 to phone customers who are leaving in
their last few days, and to offer them a crazy deal.
    £5p/m for life...<

LOL. I await retentions phone call, looks like another CPW cashback contract for me :-)
  • Have just got of the phone with 3 - my contract is finishing next week - requested pac code and they have offered:

300 mins free 150 texts, 25 video minutes, 25 shared video what ever that is, £5 free download

    This deal is either:
£10 for life with no new hand set
£12 for life with Nokia 6120
    £17.50 for life with N73

I am being rung back at 1:30 what should I do?
are there any offers anywhere which are cheaper/better
    Nil illigitami carborundum... :A
  • I'm biased but I'd go for the 6120- £12/monthis better than I did and it is a cracker of a handset.

You say you need a new phone but I thought I'd mention that the no-handset deal they are offering you is not really that good. They were offering that 300 mins/150 txts and all the rest to customers for £5pm - with a £25 credit, effectively 5 months free on a 12 month contract.

Maybe the handset offers are better - but going by what they offered you for a no-handset deal, I think they could do better - but Three are hit and miss with retentions - depends if you'd be happy going elsewhere with your PAC. They offer the great deals to people at the very last minute.

I have already exercised the right to use my pac code with 3,and my number gets switched next Friday to 02,but I think 3 have got the hump, because I tried 5 times this morning to speak to my missus, and although I could hear her,she couldn't hear me,each time,a minute coming off my current balance.Something definitely fishy going on.

The best thing was about giving my pac code to 02,was I got to speak to a very nice lady HERE IN THE UK,and not some goon in an Indian callcentre..:wall:

    Alright,she was Scottish,but I won't hold that against her.:rotfl:

So roll on next Friday, when at long last I will be shot of 3,and I can't wait.

    Ken.
That's my mutt in the picture above.
  • Hiya has anyone got any good deals of the 3 network recently for loyalty to the network?

Try looking at the Three Retentions thread.

Edit: do you really require such spoon feeding?
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
