I just gotIt just beats my last contract which was 9 months at 12.50 then 3 months at £25 for 500 minutes and no texts, with a cheapo nokia. I think I could have got a better deal but I couldn't be bothered to haggle any more.

Just called Three after I missed their call and was offered the same deal :

    So:
£10/month for 500 minutes and 100 texts on a 12 month contract with no new phone

Haggled a bit with the (very polite) CS lady (asked for credit, free months etc...) but nothing ! She made it clear that it was the best offer on her behalf. Anyone had any better luck on a 12m contract?

just got off the phone from three retentions - they called me.
contract due to expire on 26th sept for which I requested PAC 30 odd days ago.

Offer: No phone, 500 mins & 100 texts free for first 6 months then £5 per month so total cost for the year £30.

    their number 07782 333 333.

important : if your currently on a cashback, e.g. through CPW then make sure they don't start you on the new contract before the old one end as you might invalidate your last cashback claim.
  • Out of interest what contract were you on, and how much did you spend a month? I'm on a £35 a month contract and the best they've offered me is no phone - 500mins - 100 texts £10 a month. I phoned for my PAC on Sat for a second time as they didn't ring back before the last one expired, hopefully I'll have more luck this time.

i have been with 3 for 3 years and all they could offer me, is 200 miniutes 100 texts, no new phone for £13 pound a month!!

yeah thanks for your custom NOT!
  • jammo - i'm on talk and text 750 I think, £35 per month. offers do seem to be given quite randomly.

maybe its just about catching them at the right time e.g. when they got to reach a sales/retention target or something.
  • I'm a couple of months past my contcat date and have been successfully avoiding their calls to me ... (they call me from 07782 333350).

Anyway, I'm on the 'Direct Talker 1000' plan (£35 a month for 750 mins & 150 texts) .. have been on it for ages and, stupidly, have often gon e over my minutes and been billed accordingly etc ...

So I decides to ring them and try for a free N95 (instead of my battered old Motorola V3x) ...

Would they have it .. erm, nope, I was on the phone, being nice enough, trying for a good half hour ...

'oh no Sir, the N95 is a very expensive handset and there's no reductions, it's £99 Sir' etc etc ...

I says .. 'ok, I'll pay the £99, no worries, but can I have a reuction / discount on my price plan instead, surely I'm a valued high paying customer etc etc?

"Oh no Sir, but if you have the £45 a month, on an 18 plan, you can have the phone for free?'

I then pointed out that this would mean I was paying £180 extra just to have the phone for free!

Anyway, we went round in ciircles like this for a good half hour so I politely requested my pac code etc ... hopefully they will call me again with 'a better offer'. I don't really want to leave them but I don't see why they can't do some sort of reduction for me, it would cancel out the £99 price of the handset at least ... ;)
  • I was also offered this yesterday: No phone, 500 mins & 100 texts free for first 6 months then £5 per month so total cost for the year £30.

But I turned it down (hoping for even a better deal like I got last year which was £6 for the whole year on this same tariff).

Has anyone been offered a better deal than the above deal recently?

Sounds as though you must have spoken to the same operator as me! After a period of negotiating a deal, I even mentioned that it was cheaper to order from their own website a brand new N95 handset over the course of the contract (18months). He then tried to pull a fast one on me saying that it was only for new customers, and I wouldn't be able to keep my same number then! I asked what happen to my "two years loyalty" and the "once in a lifetime opportunity"? To which the operator put me on hold and kindly gave me the PAC number.

I have now moved to Orange!

They offered me !!!!!!all! have used 3 for the last 2 1/2 years, requested my pac code, that didn't prompt them, and that was 2 weeks ago and i've not heard from them again!!

So i'm looking now at other providers.

Don't worry about it Kat. Wouldn't hold your breath hoping for them to call back. Make sure you use your PAC in the next 2-3weeks (before it expires), otherwise 3 will reset your 30day notice - in effect, making you stay with them for a further 30 days!

Are you looking for a cashback deal? Any particular phone? Minutes? Texts? Averagely how many? (We should all start helping each other seek suitable deals) via Quidco, Clearance Offers, etc!
