3 Retention Deals

One week to go until my contract's up (which I've already given 30 days notice on) and got a call from 3 saying I'm a valued customer who's always paid bills on time and so they'd offer me 500 minutes/100 txts (less than I use a month so they've obviously not really looked at my usage) free for 6 month and £5 a month after that (for life). I told him I've already signed up to another (3) contract but he still tried offering me it as an addition to my new contract in case I use up my minutes, or offer it to a friend to use. I turned it down anyway. We'll see if they come back to me again!
This is probably the best offer anyone's been given by Three! Free for 6 months, then £5p/m for LIFE! Unbelievably good!0 -
seems as if 3 retentions dont care if people leave ...
before they use to give a leg and an arm to retain you0 -

A few of us got 17 months free and only £18 for the last month.
I myself got 11 months free and only pay £25 on the 12 month
All done via immediate cash back. (within minutes)

17months free line rental (with INSTANT cashback)?! Shocking! When were you offered this deal?
I was given a new Nokia 6280 and 10months free line rental (worth £300 - instantly credited to my account), and the last two months I pay £30p/m.... this was offered to me last year though, and was counting on something similar, but to no avail.0 -

I just got £10/month for 500 minutes and 100 texts on a 12 month contract with no new phone. It just beats my last contract which was 9 months at 12.50 then 3 months at £25 for 500 minutes and no texts, with a cheapo nokia. I think I could have got a better deal but I couldn't be bothered to haggle any more.0

Nickf23 did you get offered 3 months for free on that deal? I got offered the same but with a £30 credit, so works out at £7.50 for 12 months - however this was at the beginning of August.
Looking back over this thread a few people were offered the same as me around July/August but it looks like Three may be getting a bit tighter with the credits on the account with this deal.
One thing that really annoyed me and I am trying to lodge a complaint with Three about it, is they took away my Free Internet 30 when they upgraded me - however I explicitly asked the retentions guy if my free internet 30 deal would still be included and he said yes. But when I checked my usage it was not there. Customer services are saying there is nothing they can do but I do feel they've got to take some responsibility as they are upgrading people on false pretences. So beware with regards to you are being told by the retentions team.0 -
Yeah seem to offer me same as my current price plan thats 400 mins, 250 txt etc. with £5 download for £10 per month what a rip off!
I think i'll get the £5 for 750 mins for life that sounds better
Did you actually get offered 750 mins for £5? That is the deal I would have wanted - is it Talk and Text 900? I opted for Talk and Text 600 for £10 pm with a £30 credit - but it looks like I should have held out longer!
I was only offered the 300 mins and 150 texts with all this other stuff like vid mins and downloads for £5 with 5 months free. good deal, my sister took it (although she is suffering with the mins at the moment, down from 750 mins to 300 mins) but I knew it wouldn't be enough mins for me, I wonder if the retention deals will get better or worse next year.0 -
Hmm the retentions deals are getting worse I think ,or they are being more, hmm difficult... I am sure they offered me the 300/150 on a 6210 for £15 on a 12 mo contract a couple of dys ago, now it is £18. Still I think I'll take it as it is enough for me, and I def don't want to be on an 18 month contract again.
The 6210 is a little gem of a phone though- Ive been using DH's since mine has been dodgy.
As long as they can guarentee I'll not have to pay another £35/month and they can swap me at my "end of contract date tomorrow I'll bereasonably happy I guess (I also remember I have a refer a mate £30 due, so I need to keep on a 3 contract with the same no to get that , and that alone will pay the extra £3/month I guess pretty much.0 -

No, I didn't get offered the extra credit. I think I could have got more if I'd tried harder but I couldn't summon up the determination. I've been pretty happy with 3 so far, reasonable customer service and very good reception where I am. Thats a good point about making sure that they do what they they'll do, he said he'll send it in writing so i'll check then.0
