with 3 days to go before my last contract ended (which I cancelled 4 weeks earlier), I phoned to ask about roaming abroad and using the PAYG which I was about to go onto, They offered me Direct VTT 500. Thats 300 voice minutes, 25 video minutes, 150 texts, 25 video or picture messages and £5 downloads. They have said its 5 months free then £5 month for 7 months - no handset. I accepted as it seems a good deal so i'm hoping it works out as they promised.

Did that hollow laughter echo enough?

Just been onto 3 re upgrading to N95. Yesterday they "didn't havea ny in stock" today, apparently they can offer me (after lots of "why do you want this particular phone, I have lots of good phones" malarky) N95 on a 18 month deal at £45/month:rotfl: :rotfl:

Some upgrade with "customer loyalty" etc....Do I feel "valued" umm no!

Even O2 shops are doing it on a £30/month 18mo tarriff!

So I think I'll get a new n95 and request a PAC to see what they can come up with as a SIM only deal for DH (so far only been offered the £5/month with no free months..)

Well my 30 days are up today, I did not receive one phone call from Three with any deals.

Yesterday I called them to find out when my 30 days were up (playing dumb as I new it was the 29th), the lady informed that as a valued custumer they could offer me some great deals. The 'great' deals she gave me were frankly rubbish. One of which was the VTT500 for £10/month and that was with no handset.

So what am I doing wrong?

bearing - nothing, the deals change all the time, and will depend on your useage, received calls/texts, and many other factors. Just have to see if what you get offered is worthwhile to you at the time.

This is exactly the same spiel (and offer) given to my wife about 2 weeks ago. My contract's up next week and we both wanted the N95 with 3.

Anyone any idea when 3 are gonna buck their ideas up and start becoming competitive with the N95 deals? I want my new phone :(

    Well,3 excelled themselves today.

I rung up,and asked for my PAC code, and the lady on the other end,in the Indian call centre, tried all ways to get me to stay with them.

Firstly I told her I was unhappy at the 'loyal' discount that I was offered on the VTT 2600 package,of £20, (Down from £100 to £80.) and she went to speak to her supervisor, and she came back with an astounding £5 extra off that!!!!! After I told her that a friend of mine and his wife, have the VTT 2600 for £50,which is a genuine story, she then went away, and then came back and said that in with the £75,I could have 2000 minutes,100 texts,£40 worth of downloads,a new phone, and £60 instant credit.I told her I wasn't interested in the £40 downloads, and could they not deal on that, and give me a cheaper rate,to which she then came back with £70 pm,an NO PHONE!!!!!!

At that point,I said that they obviously didn't regard me as a loyal customer after all,and could I have my PAC code immediately,to which I got it.

But fair play to her for trying, and I thanked her accordingly.

So I'm now on the hunt for a new tariff.

    Ken.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

    Hi
Rang 3 on Saturday to give a months notice to terminate contract and asked for my PAC code .
The lady said please stay,we can offer you 200 minutes and 200 texts a month for £25,I asked if this was their best offer, she said yes and just gave me the PAC code.
Is this the normal 3 "none"retention policy these days?
  • Was that deal with a new handset?

I just got 300 mins and 150 texts for £5 per month with a £25 credit so works out at 5 months free and then 7 months @£5 on 12 month contract and £5 per month thereafter for as long as I don't want a handset upgrade.
