Thought about requesting a PAC and playing the waiting game. But will be on holiday when the phone calls would start! I'd all ready spoken to them and only giving same price online. The code saves me £54 over the 18 months. So I am happy.0 -
I have given them notice a week ago and they offered only silly deals (i want the £20 contract with E71 that they have now.... cheaper ... and they offered 19.68
) )
3 more weeks and I have not heared from them yet... I hope they won't let me go...
2 more weeks until the PAC expires and nothing from them yet...
Can I port the number to payg on another network and after a week port it again on a new contract on 3?0 -
Yup. This might be the only way to get a "deal" out of 3. Clearly, loyality doesn't matter a damn to them, so why play the game?Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I've been with 3 now for about 6 years and I currently have 3 contract phones with them (not huge spends, but around £95 per month rental). Called today to cancel one of them which is due for cancellation in August (and I lost the handset last week) and was persuaded to stay with 1100 flexible units/300 mins free 3-3 and free skype @ £26 per month with new Sony C902 and a £200 voucher for Comet. The next contract is up for renewal in 2 weeks, so I'll see if I can get that lower and a new phone. I'll admit I was a bit shocked they offered me anything as my previous experience with them wasn't the best.0

Are you people going though the 333 then options 4 and 3? Or is there a way to talk to someone in england who might help a little more?0 -
Upgrade day arrived, went on the upgrade button of the website and found I could get the mix and match 1100 with a Nokia 6120 for 13.25 a month, so I went for it. I'll prob buy a sim free phone at some point, but I'm happy. Actually, I'm most pleased that I didn't have to ring them up and speak to them. ANd the deal is in black and white in a computer generated email, so they can't argue with it! And the very nice people (no really!) in the Exeter 3 store said I should go for it, and that they were amazed.
What puzzles me is where these deals spring from? WHo thinks them up? A computer. 'COs its not a very clever one.
I had a £7 'loyalty bonus' (discount!) when I took out the original contract. For some reason, taking a 6120 gives me a further 25% off the contract (Worked out on £27, rather than £20!).
Surely any company that knew its bits from its tits would work out any discount on the price the contract would have been after any discounts rather than before i.e. the discount is bigger than it need have been- I'd still have taken it! ANyway, I'm not complaining...0 -
Whenever I hit the upgrade button, all I got was a message telling me to go into a 3 store. Maybe its changed recently? Must admit, Im getting more and more peeved at not being offered anything when I read this forum, but then again, maybe Im lucky to be shot of them!0

Well folks I was on here banging on about hanging on til the last minute and grabbing a good deal...WATCH OUT! I thought i had a great deal and i get a phone call this morning saying i was offered something incorrectly - I threw a wobbler and was then told that 'oh they made a mistake and you will be on right the tariff come 15th July.
I will see if i can find out in the meantime as I don't trust them.
I have put the sim in the new phone too but will fly to mumbai, find the nearest unfortunate employee of 3 and stick it where the sun don't shine if they renage on this deal :mad:0 -
Well I guess I'd like to add my story to the mix. I have just managed to get a deal out of three after a very long week!! I phoned 333 genuinely wanting to cancel my contract in order to get an iphone (not very 'money saving', but figured if i was going to spend £35 amonth on a contract it might as well be a snazzy phone). Three in mumbai immediately slated the iphone and suggested a number of other phones that they offer (of course), including the Tocco, and the E71, neither of which i wanted for various reasons. I said I needed to think about it and see what other phones they were offering and do some research. I then found out that they were offering the Nokia N97 on pre-order. Right then - 'I'll have one of those' I thought! After a bit of haggling with the first chap I got on the line, he put me through to the floor manager, who eventually offered me the N97 on MM300 and unlimited internet for £35 a month all in. I said great I'll think about it, call me later. He never did, I called back the next day, was told he would call me back - he never did! Anyway called this morning and was told that deal was no longer available! In exasperation I said that the manager was supposed to have called me back yesterday before I went out to teach.
He's the rub... his ears pricked up at the word teach - he asked if i was a teacher, affirmative, he then put me back on hold again.......came back with a miraculous 25% discount off the line rental (only) because I'm a teacher, Yay. Even so still feeling a little miffed as the overall deal is now £36/month and not £35 (yes that's a whole £12 a year!!) for which I get:
300 mix&match
300 3 to 3 minutes
200 video calling minutes
Unlimited internet
Free N97 handset.
Only issue is the handset is out of stock  and I have to wait til next week to receive it. Oh and he refused to put the deal in an email of text to me and said I'd receive it in writing 10days after the handset (that's handy!)....needless to say I'll be waiting for that piece of paper to land on the mat before using the new shiny handset - man that's going to be hard!!0 -
The sad thing is, you'd still have been better off with the iPhone (saving £13/yr), on a much better network lol. It's not much of a 'deal', which is the primary moan right now, as new customers can get it for £35/month anyway. The only vaguely 'dealish' bit you got was free Internet Max add-on.
And they throw those around like confetti.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
