Just got my callback from 3 regarding my £10pm request. They were willing to give me 2 months free internet which didn't appeal to me. So I'm sending the phone back and cancelling my contract. Should be receiving my PAC code in the next couple of hours hopefully and a return envelope in the post.

For those who have sent phones back to 3 before. Is there a sure fire way to ensure they don't do any funny business with the returned handset and claim its been used/box opened etc and then charge me afterwards? I received the package on Tuesday and its still in the plastic bag unopened. I was thinking of putting the whole lot in the return envelope. Do you think this is a good idea as proof it was never opened?

Also, what concerns me more is that their system would automatically flags the handsets as been used as soon as the phone has been delivered. Which is b*ll*cks. When I called them up immediately after I knew it had been delivered, the chap said that their system indicates that the handset has been used. I said you're having a laugh right. Its at the estate office waiting to be collected (I was at work at the time). This leads me to believe they might do something fishy.

    Any advice?

Another 50 min on the line to India. Tried my LAST chance at getting a E71 deal. Was offered same as Store (Texter £20 & £25) minus the new VAT price (so few pence short of £20/25 & Unlimited FREE 3 to 3 Calls (not basic 300min).

I wanted anything Under £20 inc Internet & 300+ min (like my current plan). Was told 3 cant afford to (blah blah blah) otherwise Sir I would do my best to get you a Good Deal. This is the BEST deal & you should get it, should I deliver on May 14th? (hell NO......) Then was offered Mix & Match 1100 for £20ish (crap fold up phone).

They said E71 was better than BlackBerry Bold as its not NEW & tested the time. So pushy & crap service in India. :( Price is good anyway in store. But they should reward customers a bit every year offer 10% off if Renew/Upgrade

I had a card inside my envelope which said you are permitted to open the box and inspect the phone, and I was also told I could read the handbook, just not insert sim or access anything. I opened the box, looked at phone, obviously couldnt even switch it on, and made a point of asking how the heck you can decide if you like it without trying it. Just let them try saying I've used it after all this!

Yep I know about the card. I remember it from when I signed up 18months ago. But I thought I'd avoid risking anything by simply not opening the package at all. Did you send the phone and get a receipt from post office to confirm postage? This was advised to me from CS.

Also did you request your PAC code at the same time as cancelling the upgrade? I was told I could get the PAC but I didn't receive it in the 2 hours they said I would. So I'm calling them back about it. I don't really fancy waiting up to 5 days to receive the return envelope and then a few more days once they've received the handset to go through the PAC request again.

Sounds the best idea to me. Maybe you could even photograph the unopened box wrapped up.

Ive already sent one upgrade handset back this time, and yes, I did get a receipt from post office. (Mind you, it did take them almost a week to confirm they had it.) Am awaiting next jiffy bag as I type! As I say,I did open the box this time round to look at the phone, which I'm kind of regretting, but I didnt insert the battery or sim, so was within my rights (providing they play fair, which I'm seriously beginning to doubt now) I havent requested a PAC, just said to change it to pay as you go just in case, I dont need to keep my number or anything, so didnt really need the PAC. Let me know if you find any good deals with anyone else!

Not saying you are :) Its just them with Double Standards

Can I ask you 2x Questions??

    1) Do you have Texter £20 or Texter £25 Deal? They did say I may be able to get it for £20 & £5 Internet (ie Texter £20 thats 200min). But I want the Texter £25 ie 500min.

    2) What did you say to the Three Shop sales person to get the Deal? Can you just give a few points what you said & what they said? So I can at least try it on Saturday/Monday.

    Thanks

Texter £25 ie 500min the 1st time i went into the shop to upgrade choose the Blackberry they then started to complete upgrade on there system, but were having trouble getting the emi number logged to my account,so they asked if i would'nt mind coming back in 90 minutes when the system was back up and running, well we returned to the shop about 2 hours later and the system would still not accept the Blackberry's emi number to log the phone to my account anyway they said the system must still be upgrading and asked me to come either at 4pm or they would keep the phone for me and come back at the weekend anyway got home phoned another 3 store and asked if there system was back up and running and was told YESSS:),we then jump back into the car Starsky and Hutch style;) walked back into the shop they then tried logging the same Blackberry onto my account and guess what same thing happened I then asked could they try using the other one they had in stock and hey presto it was logged straight onto my account.

To cut a very boring story short....

Dodgy Blackberry EMI No + 3 visits to that 3 store and all the inconvienance that goes with that I asked for a discount on the tariff they agreed to waive the £5.00 internet bolt on ,I then chanced my arm and asked if they would throw one of those memory(these were hanging up on a display stand/wall) cards with it as well.......and the man from 3 said yesssss.
