My contract expires next month and they have offered to keep me on the same tariff as I am on now (500mins, 100 text) and for the same price (£10 a month, due to my loyalty discount) for 12 months. They offered the Nokia 3120 or the LG KF310 for free, I said no as I want a better phone. I gave them another call, this time they are offering the same deal but they are now offering the Samsung S7330. What do you guys think of the deal? I haven't given my notice or anything yet but I am thinking about it as they might offer me a more improved deal if I do. Not sure what to do, any advice would be appreciated.

I cancelled my contract with 3 last week, giving them 30 days notice. Today they offered me the following:

    Free Nokia 3120
    750 xnet anytime minutes
    150 xnet anytime texts

all for £5 a month on 18 month contract
Thats a cracking deal even though its only the 3120. How much did you use to pay before the upgrade? Also what deal did they offer you before you gave your notice?

I was on £15 250 minutes 100 txts, Been emailing them - they called me back many times but didn't get any deals. They just read out what it says on the website.
I had requested my PAC but then got frustrated and asked her to cancel the contract - and it took about an hour to do so. Finally managed to give 30 day notice to cancel the contract.
Will accept only if I get a cracking deal or else I am fed up with 3.

Interesting, would have been more useful if they explained what deal they got in full. All it says is they got 11 months free. There is no info on what tariff, contract lenght and if any phone was offered.

Anyone else who has recently accepted an upgrade from 3?
  • Have been offered a tocco, 250 mins and 50 texts £15.00 a month but havent accepted yet
  • Ive just phoned to cancel and got offered a n95 8gb with unlimted txts and 75mins for £15 a month. What do u rec?
  • Is that the exact same price plan you were on before but with a new N95 8GB? If the minutes and texts are enough for you then you need to decide if the new N95 is a good enough deal for you or if you want to haggle for a new price, but to get that out of them you may need to just give them your 30 days cancellation notice. The deal they offered me was no good so I cancelled, I called them back the other night to make sure they had put 30 days notice on my account as last time I asked they hadn't done anything.

I'm going on to Orange's 30% reduced friends and family rate as I have a friend who works there so for the same money as 3 want for an N95 8GB I can get an N85, as well as more minutes and texts. I don't know when to order it though as I still want to leave a window open for 3 to offer me a better deal but don't want my PAC code to expire, my PAC and contract will expire on the same day and I've heard that if I haven't ported my number by then it's complicated to get it out, but if 3 don't call me til the last day I'll have to port my number at the last minute. Not holding much hope of a better offer though, haven't received a single phone call from 3 yet whereas some people got calls with shiny new deals within hours of cancelling!
