...Any deal they offer me I'll ask for in writing before I agree to anything .....
Anything they offer I'll be sure to agree with when I get written confirmation before I use any phone they send me, that's for sure!
  • I can safely say (from experience on other forums and personally) that 3 will not offer any upgrade offer on paper. Record all calls you have with these monkeys.

been with Three for more than 4 years but cannot get an offer better than new customer. When I quoted Virgin £8.5 offer, they cannot match it, not even close.

tell them you're leaving and ask for your PAC code. Then just sit back and wait for the offers to come in. It's verging on harrassment to be honest, but if you don't mind playing the game you'll get a bargain. The other offer they gave me was: 750 x network mins, unlimited texts, 50 vids, 50 pics, 50 download and any phone I wanted. Unfortunately I was only interested in the N96 which I would've had to pay £69 for, which is still cheap.

But, gotta be the iPone for me!

3 are indeed absolutely crap! I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, my friend had a NIGHTNARE with them. Too long a story...

    Correct.
Another thing to do is get them to put details of offer on your account then ring another "advisor" to see whats on your account, I've been told things before that mysteriously vanish once you start the contract.
  • So where do we stand if we agree to an upgrade deal and use the new phone they send us under the assumption that the deal we've been offered will be honoured only to later find out that we've been stitched up?
I used to have a program that could record all my mobile phone calls but it dosn't work anymore for some reason. Would I have to email them a copy of the recorded audio file if I get a new version? Has anyone ever been in this position?

Another quick question, the guy I spoke to yesterday said he'd send my pac code by sms but I still haven't received anything, how long does it usually take?
    Thanks.

Probably not related, but I have been speaking with 3 today trying to find out when my contract ends, and they updated my address. The guy said he is sending the confirmation of address change by SMS but I haven't received anything as well.

Well, my contract ends February 28, so I will be requesting the PAC soon. Just need to decide if I stick with them (very poor reception experience), or use one of the special online deals for free PS3/TV/home cinema...

I got my PAC code about half an hour after hang up the phone.

I still can't find anything to record my calls with but I phoned up anyway & asked why I hadn't been sent my PAC code yet & the guy said that a PAC hadn't been issued. He went round & round trying to convince me to stay on the price plan I was on & take the free N95 8GB but I'm pushing to see if they can also shave a little off of my monthly bill. He said there's already a £10 discount on my account & won't be able to reduce it further. He also said, like the previous person said, that once a PAC is issued I lose any loyalty bonuses & that the offer of a free N95 8GB will no longer be on the table. Kept saying I wasn't interested & he eventually issued my PAC & told me the account would be closed in 30 days & told me about my final billing details which I could barely hear to be honest. I received the PAC within 5 minutes of ending the call & I'm now a bit worried that I may have shot myself in the foot! Have I really lost my loyalty bargaining chips & do 3 still call to make better offers after giving 30 days notice & a PAC code?
