3 Retention Deals
Comments

Hi
I've just phoned 3 to give my 30 days notice, currently using a Nokia 6120. I'm after a N95 8GB, free of course, and maybe a little reduction on my price plan. The guy offered me the 8GB for free straight away but isn't willing to budge on the price plan, I'm currently paying £20 for 500 minutes and 100 texts but thought I'd try my luck.
After reading through all the posts on deaing with 3 retentions I know that they won't give me their best offer straight away so I told him I still wanted to give my 30 days notice to get the ball rolling while I consider his offer. He said that if I issue my 30 days notice then I automatically lose my customer loyalty and any deal he offers me now I wouldn't be entitled to once I give 30 days.
Sounds like bull to me but I told him I'd think about his offer and to issue my pac code. I just wanted to check what other people thought before I went and deleted any loyalty bargaining chips I may have.
Thanks!0 -
Sounds like a great deal... if you can stand the thought of being with 3 for the next 18 months.
I'd had enough of them - I moved to 02 this week. Bought a new mobile and ordered a simplicity card. It may not be a killer deal like yours - but I'm not tied in and the customer care from 02 is a world away from anything 3 give you!0 -

Query: I joined Three on 12 September 2007 on an 18 month contract, so I make it that my contract will be up on the 12th March. When can I phone up to get my PAC code/end my contract?
Want to get myself a Nokia 5800 on T-Mobile (via buymobilephones.net) 200 Xnet Mins/200 texts/Web n Walk for £25 a month (and cashback/gift etc)0 -

They keep calling me up (at least every 2 days) and offering to extend my current contract. My 30 days expires on 8th March.
Just because they offer you a deal, doesn't mean they'll honour it. I'm currently in negotiation about a deal I was offered that they won't let me have (they admitted offering it to me too!)0 -

They keep telling me (when trying to sell me a new 18mo contract) that you can upgrade after 14months. Not sure if you can leave them after 14 months though....0 -

Wow, I haven't had one phone call yet and mine is up on the 12th.
Maybe they don't want to keep a hold of me0 -

That's terrible, they even admit offering it to you but won't allow you to have it! Perhaps they were hoping you'd say yes on the spot so they could mess you around later having already retained your custom. Any deal they offer me I'll ask for in writing before I agree to anything as I've recently been stung by Virgin Broadband by agreeing to a deal over the phone that they now say never existed! Has anyone been able to get written confirmation of the deal they're offering before agreeing to it?0 -
yeah, agreed re: customer service. Spent 55mins explaining to them I want an iPhone, got to the point when the guy in retentions was literally going nuts with me because I didn't want anything he offered me. For the last week I've had them ringing me from India and Glasgow all day every day. I'm thinking of taking out a restraining order on them!!0

been with Three for more than 4 years but cannot get an offer better than new customer. When I quoted Virgin £8.5 offer, they cannot match it, not even close.0
