3 Retention Deals

I didn't bother with a Pac I just asked for the No to revert to 3 PAYG at end of contract which kept me the No without using a Pac.
Not sure if then, having a 3 PAYG, you can sign up to new contract as a new customer, possibly not. You could always go from 3 PAYG - Pac to Other PAYG (with free sim)- Pac back to 3 as a new customer.
Hmm thats gonna prove too much hassle, damn. So I'll try the cancelling thing at 15months[conract due] and see what can be done. I dont want to cancel the tarriff is perfect for me, all I want is the offer they have online for NEW customers!!
Do you think regular begging to be given the offer works? Maybe Im due an upgrade, can I have the offer on your website..OR I'll quit?? :rotfl:0 -
Once you've cancelled you can take it to the last few days (days) to see what they offer.
If they don't come up with want you can always just ask to continue on your current contract for a few months. They can stop the cancellation and you continue your current plan on a monthly basis with no new min term. Then have a rethink and try again another month!0 -

Oh OK, so the cancelling isnt immenant? SO you can say to them 'I'm undecided will still hang on for a while?' What if you dont get any offers you like or want to accept[like for instance if they just give me tarrif offers when I want a phone offer?] can you just accept what you would\ve been faced with at the time o your upgrade and go back to the standard contract, instead of a monthly basis like you explained?
Sorry I have so many questions!! Just new to this retention business0 -
I waited until the last minute after my PAC request - not one call from Three. Did this 3 months running as didn't get round to changing, still nothing. Now transferred number to a PAYG to close the account and will unfortunately lose the number as you cannot PAC transfer your number to Vodafone using any of the online retailers (Phones4u and mobiles2yourdoor have good cashback deals, if you know the risks and stick to the T&Cs).
If you don't accept any of their offers, you just stay on the same contract (which is why I am kicking myself - 3 months additional time wasted at "normal" rate on a six months contract - idiot! I could have had a free phone, £32 cashback from Quidco and a £20 voucher for the same period!).

Oh damn, so your not even entitled to your original upgrade that would've otherwise got?
Thing is I NEED a new phone as this one is well and truly knackered. OK I will try the honest approach with a small white lie about thinking of leaving, and will tell them that[which he did] the guy instore said they'd prob be able to get the deal for me.
Shall let you know how I get on!!0 -
If you were to cancel then at the last minute change your mind you would just stay on your existing contract as if you had never cancelled in the first place.
The following month you could then start the whole process again and when you phone up t cancel again they'll start offering you phones etc to stay.
TBH it sounds like you'd end up taking their last minute offer as that is likely to be best available & you seem to be happy to stay but just want the best phone you can get, which is likely to be that last minute offer.0 -
I'm into my 3 month end period of my 18 month contract. I'm thinking of dropping my current mobile down to PAYG (I don't use it much, lucky if i use 50 min talk or use 100 texts)
Was thinking of getting one of their laptop deals, either the Compaq mini or the HP 550 with the mobile broadband. (I'll use it more and i need a new laptop!)
Do you think they will allow me to drop my mobile down and take out the laptop deal? (Existing users get 25% off monthly prices)
I'm heading to my local "3" shop tomorrow to see what deal i can get (Can't stand doing via phone!)...Laters

Finally took the plunge and asked for my PAC today (contract expired in Aug!) They couldn't offer me anything good.
About an hour later, they called and offered me a half decent deal.....
NOW
£180 worth of credit to use on calls/texts
£26/mo
OFFERED
Texter 25 - 500mins, Unlimited texts
£25/mo
Free N96
18mo
I'm quite tempted - on the website, they offer this deal, but the handset price is £244.67.
I was after a 12 month contract, and had found a half decent deal through dialaphone, but that would mean faffing around with cashback etc.....
whaddya think to my deal. Had a quick look around, and can't find many deals as good as this..... (I MUST have a nokia- tried others before, and never again!)0 -
I've had a look around, and the best deal I can find for a N96 seems to £33/mo for 18 months. Looks an ok deal to me..... :think:0

Have been offered a handset upgrade, I want a blackberry but 3 don't stock them so out of all the phones they offer now what would you take?
The nokia e71 seems to be the best but how do the nokia n96, samsung f480 tocco and the ericsson c905 stack up??0
