I cancelled my contract about a week ago, due to transfer to PAYG on 30th of this month (this following their refusal to offer anything other than the standard price plans).

    I got a call today from CS and was offered the following;
    Nokia 6220
    750 mins
    150 texts
    50 Vid minutes
    50 pic messages
    £5 downloads per month
    on a 12 month contract

    for......................................................

£10 per month (inclusive of vat!!)

I don't think there's any point in me looking for a cashback deal with an offer like that!

I snapped their hand off :D

p.s. Got to admit I didn't even know what the 6220 was like, it was the deal and cost I was most interested in, but pleasantly surprised now I've googled it.

Dammit i have the same Price plan as this and the best i could get was £18 p/m and £60 for the E71 on a 12 month Contract...... it turns up tomorrow. think ill phone up to return it.

I had a supervisor call me back last night and he explained the situation properly.

Basically because I had extracted myself from the contract on a technicality they would not make me any offers.

However, if I waited until the 17th month of my contract, as a "walued customer" they would "certainly make offers that would be much more attractive".

So th elong and short of it is I uncancelled myself and will ring up next week when my 17th month commences and start the clock ticking again!

    Walued customer my !!!!!

I called up quoting Johnni2Bad's offer and was told that no such offers exist, and he even tried to sell me a more expensive tariff. I told him he was wasting my time and his and hung up.

If you switch to PAYG, is there a minimum top up, minumum period before you can PAC, and does it have any credit when it switches? Just weighing up whether to get my PAC or switch to PAYG first - am 5+ months in to the 6 month minimum term (of the 18 month contract as advertised on their website - I am not sure how this will appear on the system and if it will be problematic to leave?).

    Many thanks

I decided to call and find out - no surprise, no record of the 6 month contract on the system (though the CS was very helpful and when I was firm with dates and the fact I had screen shots, he got in touch with another department who amended the contract). The offer was a "top of the range" Nokia for Mix & Match 300 for £15, which is really no offer at all (you have to give credit for determination and be prepared for the hard sell).

I went for the PAC option - I now have 30 days to wait or if nothing comes up or transfer out.

    Many thanks

Not strictly, they want £1 to post you one, which is not unreasonable and should keep line rentals cheap (in comparison).

Sign up for the text when its available online and you might even win a year's line rental!

    OK folks, an apology.

I was offered my deal on Monday when I was at work and I wrote down the details so as not to forget. Unfortunately, I left the paperwork behind so when I got home and subsequently posted on here about the deal, I had in my mind the model of Nokia that I thought they had offered.

    I was wrong.

The phone did not come until yesterday and when it arrived, I thought they had made an error, but it wasn't until I checked my notes today that the error became apparent, and it was indeed all my fault. The phone was entry level rubbish, not the 6220.

The other parts of the post above are still correct - it was the 1000 mix (whatever title they use) and it was for £10 per month inclusive of vat.

Realising the error, I have just phone 3 with a view to cancelling, unless I could alter the phone being offered. I selected cancellations from the menu and explained that I didn't know what the phone was when it was discussed initially and that I wanted to talk about a replacement, otherwise I would reject the deal.

I was transfered to some other department...

Going through the same spiel again, I asked what other phone I could get on this deal, even if there was a little bit more to pay. A few other models were offered, none spectacular by any means, so I mentioned the 6500 slide or N73 or even the SE K800i - so long as there were some decent features and a reasonable camera.

After some negotiation, I have now agreed to exchange the crappy phone for the Nokia 6500 slide.

This is at the agreed price of £10 per month as before.

I'm really sorry to anyone who has tried to use the info above to thrash out a deal with 3 - this was not intentional and is why I felt it very much necessary to repost this here as soon as possible.

My exchange takes place next week and I was told that I would not be offered any further opportunities to exchange this deal.

    So, to clarify...

    Nokia 6500 slide
    750mins, 150 texts, 50 vid and 50 pics
    12 month deal
£10 per month inclusive of vat

Sorry about the schoolboy error! :o

    Hello:

I was offered for 5 pounds a month 300 minutes of calls and around 300 texts with calls from Australia to the UK included in this. I have had problems however with this (see my posting under '3 international roaming').

  • Just for info re P+G and moving the number etc.

I went P+G at end of contract, one week later I moved the number from 3 P+G to a 6m contract with out a hitch. No P+G top up added either, the phone recieved calls OK all week too.

I don't think you'd have any prob getting a PAC on a P+G phone, even with no credit on it, but if you actually need to stay on 3 you can move the number ewithout a problem.

NTW has anyone got any "loyalty" discount at the end of a 6m contract? I think FH will probably stick with it as a SIM only deal- would be nice if iot was less than £15 though (but the 2000 3-3 is useful). Me, I can't wait for the N85 and I shall probably stick with 3 if we can keep the 2000 etc- otherwise I guess if DH keeps paying the £15 when he is out of contract he can give notice at any time?
