Finally got rid of my 3 contract today,my number has been ported over to orange, 3 just werent interested in retaining my 2 contracts and with competition being fierce it didnt take long for another mobile company to snap us up.I would like to recommend the orange online tarriffs they are discounted,i got the orange dolphin 25 which is 200 anytime mins and unlimited texts, should have been £25 a month for 18 months but discounted to £20 a month. The phone i got was free and its awesome, had it 3 days now and really really impressed, its the lg secret kf750,and they even threw in an 8gb micro sd card for free.

I cancelled my contract about a week ago, due to transfer to PAYG on 30th of this month (this following their refusal to offer anything other than the standard price plans).

    I got a call today from CS and was offered the following;
    Nokia 6220
    750 mins
    150 texts
    50 Vid minutes
    50 pic messages
    £5 downloads per month
    on a 12 month contract

    for......................................................

£10 per month (inclusive of vat!!)

I don't think there's any point in me looking for a cashback deal with an offer like that!

I snapped their hand off :D

p.s. Got to admit I didn't even know what the 6220 was like, it was the deal and cost I was most interested in, but pleasantly surprised now I've googled it.

If you switch to PAYG, is there a minimum top up, minumum period before you can PAC, and does it have any credit when it switches? Just weighing up whether to get my PAC or switch to PAYG first - am 5+ months in to the 6 month minimum term (of the 18 month contract as advertised on their website - I am not sure how this will appear on the system and if it will be problematic to leave?).

    Many thanks

    Mix/match 300.

I have been with them for 3 years and had 2 contracts with them up until about Jan this year. They wouldn't do a great deal at that point so I cancelled the other deal and moved to a cashback with O2. Incidentally, they tried at the last minute to offer a basic £10 for life deal then, but it was too late, the O2 contract had started...

This phone's term had expired last month and was originally around £6/month after taking up the credit on account they offered to keep me, but since the end of its term last month I was effectively then paying £25 - there was a real need to get out of that!!!

I had every intention of finding a better offer elsewhere, but started by asking their CS what was the cheapest deal they could do to keep me, saying I didn't want a new phone if that helped. They said they didn't do any deals without phones - I argued they did - but to no avail.

Strangely, the rep told me that instead of cancelling, i should visit their hight street shops first. I asked if this was because they could offer me something cheaper and she replied NO. I politely refused to waste my time doing that!

I guess, reading this thread, that there's some pot-luck involved and that cancelling certainly helps to focus their minds, but that there is no real answer as to how they pick and choose the deal recipients. I suppose I had better have a go on the lottery this weekend...

I told them to convert me to PAYG at the end of my 30 days notice in expecting them to make me an offer during the notice period. I did not receive any calls or offers, I called them a few times but they would not budge, I called them for my PAC code the day after it was converted to PAYG and got it with no problem. I have now switched to Asda PAYG until I decide what to do.
  • well, i ended up taking the £15 mix and match 300, same as on the website, I was getting nowhere with CS, and can't find a better deal :(
wifey called yesterday, offered 750 mins, 150 text, 50mms £17/month, really is pot luck
