My final bill has just come through - £23, instead of £5! I phoned them to be told that I lost the 'loyalty discount' as soon as I gave notice.

I asked, "So I have to pay more than I agreed to?"
    "Yes."

    Nice. Can this be right?

I think it pays to get the person's name and note the time of call, as lots of people seem to have problems like this
  • i have been offered the nokia n96 with 500mix and match mins,300 3-3mins,free voicemail,4000 voip mins,150 video mins,unlimited internet and free e-mails for £36/month for 18 months.
is the n96 worth getting and will i be able to get it any cheaper elsewhere with the mins and texts and unlimited internet.
  • Its the latest you'll pay a premium. Apparently good though.

Nope - The loyalty discounts are usually for life. If so, they cannot take it away from you just because you have given your notice. I would be a bit firm with them and tell them that you are not going to pay at all, unless they amend the bill to the agreed terms. See what happens. NOTE: You might end up spending a long time speaking to them though.

Also, ask them why do they think they can charge you more. I dont think there is anything in the contract. So in effect they are in breach of contract. (Me thinks)
  • I would say - just dont take !!!! from them. They are being very nasty and charging you for things that you shouldn't be charged for. If you dont ask or say what is right, then they will keep ripping you off... dont come to this board and complain then. Speak where you have to!

tbh, i dont think its the fact that its an indian call centre. Remember these guys are trained to do this job. I think its just the company itself!

If everyone was firm and got them straight then things might change. I have had contracts with all mobile companies, since the last 8 years. But I haven't had as much problems in the first 7 years as much as I have had in the last year... its just pathetic!
  • Cancelled contract due to change in minute billing and switch to PAYG on 3rd Oct. Had no calls so far until just now when someone from Call n Click called saying they were from the upgrade dept in conjunction with 3. Not 3 themselves but when pushed said were acting on behalf of three as usually Indian call centres through which people were having problems (her words not mine!).

Anyway.....now wait for this amazing package....not!

Offered 900 mix and match with 300 3 to 3 mins with a Skype 2 phone - best phone on price plan - for £24 / mth.

Cheapest package available and best phone on that package.

Currently pay £20 for 1000 texts and 100 mins and have se K800.

    Same offer on 3 website.

Now correct me if I'm wrong....but why would I want to 'upgrade' to that package??????

Told her I'd think about it and to phone back tomorrow - somehow I dont think I will be going with it.

Can get unlimited texts and 750 mins with SE C902 for £25 on website just now but through quidco £80 cashback - their offer doesnt come close.

Who are these people and is it ligit anyway?
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

oooh - so they're offering the N96 on upgrades already?
Might be worth me giving them a call again....
  • After being really rude to the india guy who's mind seemed to be unable to process the words ' i want to cancel' i finally canceled and 3 days later got a call

    they offered me:
    12 months
    750m
    150t
    50mms
    nokia 6500 slide

    12 month contract

for £15 quid a month, i said yes figure il keep my Nokia e65 and flog the slide on ebay for £100 or so, so approx £8 per month for the year !! not bad i think .

I asked about the n95 8 gig but it went up to 25 quid or summit..

    Happy hunting ..

I am still waiting for my 1st call from them with 4 days to go before I am converted to PAYG. I called them today and asked if the 500 minutes that my existing contract has can be changed to mix and match because at the moment I have no text allowance. I was told no unless I paid £18 per month instead of £15. £18 is what I would pay if I was a new customer the only extra I was offered was a Nokia 6500 slide instead of the cheaper phone they are offering new customers. I turned it down but I will probably phone back later in the week and just go for the original 500 calls for £15 if that is all I can get because I don't want to pay more than £15

I'd stick with what you're on. The mix n match bill by the minute so even if you call for 1m02sec you get charged for 2 mins, and your mins fly on short calls and when getting peoples anwering machines! I have noticed the difference as I used to be on the £15 for 500 mins and then went to the £18 500 mix n match rip off deal.

My 6 month contract has come to an end ..well 2 months overdue actually and just waited to get the RAF discount I did 4 months ago. Will be giving the cancellation notice tomorrow. My question is What has happened to all the £5/month deals????? Loads of people were getting them and now, hardly any.
  • I rang "3" 8 days ago to give my 30 days notice as i was 17 months into an 18 month contract . The guy from the cancellations said i was better off taking my pac code off them rather than give 30 days notice, i agreed but get this- it took him over 50 mins for his machine to generate my needed pac code!!!! every time i asked for it,he said his machine was generating it but in the meantime he could offer me all these wonderful offers ( all of which were poor ones available on his website.Anyway after 50 minutes of repeating " no can i just please have my pac code " he gave it to me.Its now 8 days later and i have not received one call from 3 retentions so i will let you know when i do (or if i do).By the way i was cancelling two numbers both mine and my wifes so they will lose 2 lots of business but i certainly wont be ringing them and crawling, orange online are offering some good reductions,so its their loss and oranges gain if they dont contact me!!!
