Right so my contract was due to transfer to payg today... rang yday and was told it would happen at midnight on the 19th, so i planned to called today to negotiate an upgrade after only receiving one call.

low and behold was put on payg early and so now unable to negotiate an upgrade, have to sign up to new customers

might try and contact the press office email address to complain so I guess it's au revoir three!!!

Exactly what happened to me:mad: but mine went 48hrs early, and they remove all the bills etc from your my 3 so you have no immediate ammo to fire at them   . they, of course said they were correct and I couldn't argue otherwise.

Sadly they are still the cheapest so I shall probably end up staying with them, with the added "fun" of porting the number out and back...
  • Well i've got 5 contracts with 3 and for the 1st time EVER i've not had a single retention call for one of my expiring contracts, so its goodbye 3 and hullo 02 for that contract, the rest will follow.

I think the secret with getting calls from the retention department is that you get the calls if you regulary go over limit and are therefore deemed as good customers, the account that is about to expire always remained within the alloted limits.

Or have 3 started not to worry about the churn rate ?, I haven't seen one cracking sim only deal in months (i.e. £5 or £10 for life deals).

As I said, now looking to take all 5 contracts to 02, unless 3 come up with some offers.

Mine has hardly ever gone over the limit and if so by less than £1 yet I've been getting a hell of a lot of calls lately. Even days after I'd received the upgrade (which I've decided to return) they still called offering an upgrade.

oops i pressed the wrong button, have a free thanks from me lol.

you have to be careful as a lot of these calls are not from three. i had a funny call the other day, and they said "hi my name is jack im calling about your three contract"
    so i ask "who's calling"
    he replied "jack"
so i clarified by asking "which company are you calling from"
"three specialist mobile dealer, *something telecom*,"

another claimed to be from three, and i said you obviously aren't as your number isn't showing correctly - he hung straight up.

these sort of offers tend to bribe you with freebies, and they either tend to be chequeback deals from wholey unreliable "companies" (everytime i get a call from them it seems as if they are huddled around a small table in a small room)

anyway, only accept the call if the number states that it is from "three intl customer services" or a number with "333" in it. ALWAYS take down their name, location, department and details of the priceplan, and ask them to give you a call back OR ask them to put a note on the system log to note down what offers have been made :)

I don't think I'm on their lists for some (happy) reason all my calls have been from Three. Its the number of them that's been surprising.
  • Managed to stop these by telling 3 who admitted they pass on ( sell ) your details to such companies who might masquerade as 3 .

Incidentally recently managed to get downgrade from VTT500 taken out 5 months ago to Mix and Match 500 ( £25 to £18 ) and nice reduction on Mix and Match 300 (£ 15 to £10 ) on 12 month contracts .

Been with 3 for four years and still reckon they are the cheapest and best for my needs

I cancelled my contract 4 days ago and so far have had 3 calls from 3 trying to keep me, I've hung up every time so far, still can't decide whether or not I'd want to stay with them, they are cheaper but they're horrible to deal with!
