3 might be a cheaper network but they are crap at retaining customers. They probably have the highest customer turnover of all the networks.

Personally I am happy with CPW O2, the cashback deals are always free and I don't have to haggle one thenth of what people have to with three.

If I was on three - which I am, I never assume I will upgrade as they risk me losing my number, by ringing me on the last day.

Just take a contract out with CPW O2 from the CPW website, and after 12 months they'll give you a brill deal.

Virgin have the cheapest contract at the moment, £12 a month with free phones and 150 mins + 150 texts. As a low user that's ideal for me and better value than PAYG.

In fact I'd rather get a cheaper line rental with less minutes, which is why I'm holding out for three to call me!

12 days remaining of my contract (and notice period) and no attempt by 3 to call me and convince me to stay. I'm not phoning them, so if they don't bother I'll be leaving.
Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.

just gave notice on my contract today and they asked if there was anythign else they could do to keep me, asked them for a deal on the blackberry bold and they have offered 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited browsing on a 18month contract at £27.50 a month, but the 1st 9months they will be £22.50. seems a pretty good deal but did say that wouldnt come into play until i was out of contract and that was a extra special deal, would be interested to see what other people have been offered on this phone.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

Just been doing some research and here are my main options for sony ericsson phones

    Three - 300 mix & match - free K660i - £15pm
    Virgin - 150 mins + 150 texts - free W580i - £12pm
    T-Mob - 100 mins + 200 texts (online combi 15) - free W880i silver £15pm
    Orange - 100 mins and unlimited texts (Dolphin 15) - free W580i - £15pm

Voda and O2 cheapest are £20 a month and dont compare favourably for my useage requirements.

So unless three come back with an offer, I fany that T-mobile with the W880. Anyone got anything to say about that?

    fancy, obviously, not fanny!

    sorry!
  • All I can say is that '3' are a bunch of %*&!S

I was planning on rejecting the phone when it was delivered to my office, but someone at reception signed for it so am lumbered with it.

So I phoned up to complain to either get cheaper line rental for the same phone or a different offer but she kept just quoting the online 3 shop offers to me which I told her was a bunch of !!!!.

Now they say it will take them 5 days to mail me a stupid envelope to get the phone back to them and if I don't do it within 5 days I get 160 quid taken from me.

Also as I 'upgraded' my current tariff, my 30 days notice period that should have started a month ago will not start again till today.

So I got my PAC code and am counting down the days.

It is not as if I could ever get a signal anyway and I live in SW London and work central!

But Hermann, some people give their notice and don't receive a single call (not even missed ones) regarding retention deals, it really does seem random.
It does all seem a bit random but everyone I know on 3 has given notice and waited till the last day and got an excellent deal.

Trouble is we don't really know what triggers the various Depts to call you, it would seem likely that its related to previous spending but reading through the thread i think even people with no over allowance usage got good deals.

Also I'm sure 3 are constantly changing targets and deals etc so the goalpost are constantly moving.

Its also possible 3 are reading this thread and know the tactics people are using.

If people don't get a call they could try calling 333 and asking for retentions to call them. Wait for that callback rather than deal with the CS that answer the initial call. I'd only try this late on after giving notice etc.

I'm sure they are monitoring the threads, they'd be daft not too.

I rekon, at the moment they are a bit snowed under dealing with all the fallout from the contract changes and that retentions is maybe not a priority. I'm going to try next week when things are a bit quieter for them.
  • I gave my notice and my pac runs out on the 20th.. I had a voice mail earlier this week asking me to call 333.. I did this last night but was told by the India call center that there was no record of a call being made on that day from three and apoligised.. The voice mail I received was from a nice sounding Scottish lady.. Have I missed out or do you think I might get another call.. I thought of asking to be put through to retentions but didn't want to sound to keen.. Should I sit and wait?

I had a call on Friday but couldnt speak at the time so asked that they call me on Monday. I'm still waiting. My contract also ends around the 20th, should I call and ask for retentions or hold tight?!
