3 Retention Deals

Wondering if I should try again tomorrow ( if I haven't been cut off ).
But what number ???? I went through 333 today - mobile - contract - more options - changing price plan/upgrade/leaving - leaving - the CS rep who answered said that was the retentions dept. If that is true, there's no point me calling again. If there's a different 'retentions' dept, how do I get hold of them ??0 -

3 don't seem bothered about retaining existing customers had same phone call.
Been with 3 since September 2004, 3 offered me nothing I could not get on the 3 website and my customer loyalty bonus worked out more expensive than taking out a NEW website offer.
ALL the network cashback killer deals dried up long ago, yes someone will post they got a high spec phone for like £5/10 a month or some other crazy £5 deal but not many. UK mobile market saturated we all got like 3, 4+ mobiles that have built in cameras can play mp3/videos whatever. Networks all trying to now make some ROI
Last year's offer 21st September 2007 3 offered me:
Year cost £35 7 months at £5 (5 months free)
300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 video minutes,
25 multimedia messages and £5 downloads, per month,
on a 12 month contract0 -
Well phone this morning 'Unregistered USIM' so contract over.
'3' are entitled to make their profit, so I'm not *itching about that - but some people on here were offered deals that I would have happily accepted and been delighted with. I'm not a low user - I'd say medium. Just disappointed really that a) they wouldn't offer anything better than offered to a new customer b) wouldn't offer a 'deal' akin to some of those offered to other users on here, and c) didn't value retaining me.
Ah well. The old contract was too expensive (£35 pm @ 750 mins ). Think I'll go for the 700 mins mixnmatch with '3' @ £21 pm - £55 cashback with quidco & £45 refer-a-mate with makes it £15.44 pm.
Warning to others though, atm seems like the 'good offers' don't come at the last minute.0 -
Thanks to the info on here. I have 2 contracts due to be disconnected 6 days from now. Ive had no call and from what I read, it isnt worth waiting for them to call me. Looks like E2save have the best deals on 3 with "auto" cashback and quidco, 6120 clearance and 6500 clearance on M+M 1100 is around £15/month after quidco and auto cashback. Also Just noticed the 6120 classic is no longer listed on 3 website.0

Last year I had to contracts that totalled £70 a month. I managed to barter them down to £8 a month on each. this was for 150 Txt, 300 Mins X, 25 Mins Video Call and £5 a month downloads for life (No phone upgrade).
I am now a year on and I phoned 3 yesterday to ask for an upgrade of my phones. They offered me the following:
N95 - £45 one off payment
N95 8Gb - £125 one off payment
N6500 Slide - £0
sony Z750! - £0
Plus 2000 mins between 3 phones.
I noticed that someone got the N95 for £25 so may see if I can get them down to this.
I think the N95 covers all my needs but not to sure. Should I wait a bit longer as the N96 and N85 comes out? Would this maybe drop the charge for the N95 at the moment if I was to wait.
Also do you think that if I dropped the video call which I do not use and the £5 a month downloads the would maybe give me the 1Gb a month internet access for £5?
Advice would be appreciated.0 -

That was me and in the end I decided to go with the SE C902 as its a newer phone and the N95 has a poor battery and memory (frequent crashes) rating - the 8Gb is OK it seems.
The lower price came not from the UK callers but from the Indian call centres. Its all so random. I note some people have not been phoned in their 30 day notice but for weeks they've been bombarding me with calls.
[C902 just arrived]
Lets see if they do the same when I end the other contract....0 -

"WARNING IF LIKE WHAT U VE BEEN OFFERED ACCEPT IT AS THEY WILL GO AGHEAD TO DICONNECT YOU" I THINK THEY ARE FED UP WITH THIS LAST MINUTE BARGAIN.Though the vision may not be the true future of man but it can't be completely beyond his control.0 -

Did they charge you for the C902? And what tariff?

I stayed with the £5 350mins/150texts whatever else is in there. The upgrade was £20 which is OK. Just playing around with the phone, seems quite nice has a fairly weighty feel to it, as I can't insert my SIM ('cos that's acceptance of their offer) I'm hoping the signal strength will be as good as my old Nokia. Can't open the camera so I'm wondering if that needs a SIM before it works?
Just trying to find out if it will sync with my Mac and wondering whether the N95 would be a better option. Not sure though. Would like to stay with a SE for a change.
NB not even a small memory card included with the C902...0
