3 Retention Deals
Comments
-
1. SE530i or Skype phone 750x-net, 150txts, £5 downloads pm, 50 Video mins pm, 50 picture mms pm for £8pm for life.
That is pretty decent offer, you could try and push for a better phone in their "free" range - like K660i (purely for the sake of second generation software).
Gets to show you just how random those offers are.0 -
Had a call from retentions today, that's 1 week after receiving my PAC. They said it would be the only call I get from them. They offered :-
1. SE530i or Skype phone 750x-net, 150txts, £5 downloads pm, 50 Video mins pm, 50 picture mms pm for £8pm for life.
2. Samsung Soul, same plan £14pm for life on an 18 month contract or £19pm for life on a 12 month contract.
Have asked them to call me back later so I can have a think.
Damn - if I could get a 'free' phone like the 6500 slide on that £8 pm for life deal I'd bite their hand off. It's two weeks since my last 'retention' call and in both calls I've received they've offered rubbish. My cancellation date is early Sept. I've almost resigned myself to it happening now - I was waiting for the good offer to come along but nothing after the initial flurry. I just don't get how some people are getting decent offers and lots of others are being offered nothing special0 -
I wonder if the staff in retentions have targets to fulfill just like in many other businesses? If so this would have a baring on how good or bad a deal you might be offered.
Do they get hammered for not keeping X amount of customers from leaving or on the other hand if you happen to call on one of their more successful days do you lose out?
About a week ago I phoned and asked what sort of deal I could get if I kept my SE K800i, i.e. no upgrade and how much of a discount I would get on my present price plan....the answer "None"!
A mate got a phone call from 3 today offering him a basic phone and 300 mix&match, he is currently on 500 min for £15, he too asked for a discounted line rental and to keep his current phone, again they said no, they also said that £15 p/m is the cheapest deal they do which isn't true as there's currently a £12 deal on.0 -
Just had a call since I've put in my cancellation 2days ago. The quality was awful and the people in the background were really loud, but it did come from three international customer services.
He just basically said he can't beat the deal and he can't offer me anything else, and then he was just trying to get me to sign up to the £25 12 month contract with 500 mins and unlimited texts...Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -
Hmm... Maybe we should start exchanging first names of retention agents to develop the upgrade pattern more - perhaps "Zack" (who called me) is always giving bad upgrades while some "John", "Paul" or "Ringo" is always the £8 for gazillion minutes package guy?0

The K530i you mean..... Was that 12 or 18 months? Last week I was offered the same tariff and phone for £13pm on 12months... which I refused
They tried to call me last night but I couldn't answer!SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -
Does anyone have a geographical number for the retentions/terminations/last-gasp offers department ? (not the standard 333 type number). I'm thinking that since they don't seem bothered about keeping me, I'll try one last call to them on my second last day, see if they offer anything, otherwise it's bye bye 3.0

Yea the SE K530i and the £8 was on an 18month, though it could be changed after 9 I think it was. They said it was £8 as they would automatically apply a £22 credit to my account each month as it should really be £30pm.
Not knowing anything about the phone I couldn't accept and since this they've called me 7 times this afternoon, but I couldn't answer due working.
I currently have a K610i.
Any opinions on the K530i or Samsung Soul ? The soul looks a pretty decent phone.0 -

Before you commit yourself I'd have a look at the SE c902 in any of the mobile shops although the 3 store is best for trying out the features. I have a new c902 here and another being delivered on Monday (if you read my earlier post you will see why) haven't used the phone yet have only tried it out in the 3 store, its terrific. My current SE K800i is a marvelous phone, always connects takes great photos, its the only phone in 21 years of owning mobiles phones that I have used all of the features and it still works and looks like new, at 18 months old, the SE c902 looks like the same sort of phone, well made but with even more features.0 -

I'd rejected offers and then stopped getting the calls. It got to midday on the last day of my contract so I called 333 and said I wanted to speak to the retentions guy I spoke to before. I refused to make any arrangements with the people who answered the 333 number and they agreed to get the retentions team to call me within the hour. I got a call 20 mins later with a £5 deal that I had repeatedly been told I would not get.
I don't think you can call the people with the good deals they have to call you.0
