exel1966 - what other better deals have you been offered?

I tried to cancel mine and they told me the phone has already been sent.

If I refuse to take it will it ruin the chances of me improving my deal?

Some of the deals I've been offered are highlighted in previous posts. You can still cancel the deal you've accepted through the cooling off period which you are entitled to. Whether that will ruin your chances of a better deal I don't know, but i would assume they'd offer you a better deal if you rang to cancel.

I would assume that they would say that as well when I called earlier asking them to match the 18 per month offer, but they said I needed to give the phone number and name of my 'friend' so they could verify the deal. Plus they said if I did not want the phone I could just send it back or refuse it.

If anyone who has got the n95 8gb recently for 20 per month or less and doesn't mind PMing me there 3 number and name it would be much appreciated.

Not sure what else to do - has anyone managed to get the data costs as a freebie?

    Thanks,

    J
  • artystix that's the deal I have at the mo.

I phoned and tried for upgrades but wasn't offered anything other than what was on website - and can get those for cheaper thro quidco with new contract (ok new number but can cope with that!).

Like cheekymonkey,I want the C902 or the N95 8GB (still cant decide which) but they werent giving me the C902 for less than £25 for 500 xnet mins and unlim texts.

I have cancelled my contract (on basis of per min billing) and asked to convert to PAYG so if they dont phone with better contract offer before end of that time I will take a new contract out as above for the C902 as works out at £21.53 per month thro quidco. I'll use my many unused texts on current contract to let people know my new number and leave the orginal phone PAYG for my daughter.

That's my plan at the mo.

Artystix - if you get a better deal let us know.
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

I gave notice last week and had a call on Friday, but it was at a really bad time so I said call back Monday. Not a dickie bird. They really are a sham
  • Have cancelled my contract this morning & I have my PAC code so i guess its a wait & see situation!

Theyre very insistant at 3 arent they?

He (William?) was having a hard time accepting that i wanted to cancel, he even had a go at talking to my hubby to convince him i was wrong to cancel!
    First win 14/12 Playtex bra & Knickers!!!!

    Environmental Justice Foundation T-Shirt 11/02:rotfl:
  • They now cannot offer me anything cheaper than £25 pm on a 12 or 18 month contract so i'm getting my PAC and going to vodfone for a bit to see if any better tariffs come up in the mean time. Would just need to find a suitable payg phone :)

Bit disappointed and they couldn't offer me anything near as good as what honeyiced has received.

I cancelled last Friday and asked to be converted to PAYG when the contract ends. They offered me all sort of rubbish, nothing any better than I could get on thier website it took about 30 to 40 minutes to convince them I would not accept the rubbish offers but have heard nothing from them since.

As has been said many times in this thread the good deals only seem to be offered once you've given notice and refused the rubbish offers until the last few days of your contract, then they suddenly get a lot better.

I was initially offered pretty much the same deals as a new customer could get on the website and 3 were very insistent that was the best I could get. Then a different Dept called me and the deals just kept getting better until I finally got the £5 deal I wanted.
  • I have been told that the best offers only get offered by the different department once they ring you - but thats normally what happens, as you normally get through to cancellations but you really want to speak to retentions.

But Hermann, some people give their notice and don't receive a single call (not even missed ones) regarding retention deals, it really does seem random.

Anyway I rang up again as I think I want to go for this Vodafone 1 month thing, but the best offers they could offer were only around £25/£30, none of the offering that have been noted above.

I've spoken to the managers and have asked why there has been so much discrepancy with the offers that have been available to me, and the short of it is that he can't explain it. He also disputed some of the other offers that I had been offered (that I have mentioned before). Not a happy chappy have wasted a lot of my time on this so think I'll move on and leave :)

3 might be a cheaper network but they are crap at retaining customers. They probably have the highest customer turnover of all the networks.

Personally I am happy with CPW O2, the cashback deals are always free and I don't have to haggle one thenth of what people have to with three.

If I was on three - which I am, I never assume I will upgrade as they risk me losing my number, by ringing me on the last day.

Just take a contract out with CPW O2 from the CPW website, and after 12 months they'll give you a brill deal.
