I went out to do the shopping, leaving Misterholic behind to tidy the house and hang out some washing ... the house is nice and tidy, the washing needed re-pegging! And I thought he might have changed the bed, but he's left that for me - while he goes to play golf. (It was cheaper than his football season ticket.)
At the moment I'm reading Centennial with Live 8 on the telly for background noise. But as Jonathan Ross is having a bit of a natter at the moment, It's a bit difficult to concentrate on such a heavy book.

Hello,
This morning I got up and put a load of washing on then walked into town to pay for some coach tickets I'd reserved for a coach trip to London in August. Then came home and took Mum and sister into another town and helped them change their money for their holiday and sort out their E111 forms, we also had a look in the charity shops and I got a nice photo album for only £1.50 and a flower hairband for £1. Then I got a growbag to move my 2 tomato plants into as they've outgrown their little plastic pots. Got a new pair or gardening gloves for 59p too which came in handy when re-planting tomatoes.
Have to babysit later but I don't mind as they're good kids and it'll be a chance for me to catch up on admin work for my slimming club.
Feel like I should be doing something productive for the next few hours but lacking in energy and motivation right now so I'll carry on reading a few more threads on here and tell myself this is productive as I'm educating myself in OS.

Hi everyone,
Another football tournament this morning with D9yo. This one was about 30miles away but we went armed with folding chairs, flask of coffee and sandwiches for lunch so only spent £1 on the car park/programme. Our team played well but didn't get through to the semi's unfortunately.
School fete this afternoon. The usual assortment of 20p stalls but ds spent own pocket money. Amazing how careful he was! The cake stall was brilliant and as we were there later in the afternoon thay had started to reduce the cakes and biscuits. We got a dozen small cakes for £1 and 10 biscuits for 20p. Other peoples' home baking makes such a change don't you think?
OH did a Lidl trip this morning and bought a replacement sports holdall for £4.99 to replace his aged sports bag. He had hm pizza for lunch using a Lidl ciabatta (49p) as the base. Very tasty as well.
Received my new printer cartridge this morning that I ordered late on Thursday evening. £8.98 including P&P, compared to £21.99 new, albeit recycled. I can't fault the price or service, how I love the internet!

Two Mystery shops this morning for me and little 'un, whilst OH did some much overdue tidying up of the bedrooms. Got a dozen or so dusters from the worn-to-death t-shirts.
Enjoyed a walk at a local National Trust Property (membership was a birthday gift) this afternoon, and will be "chilling" out watching a borrowed dvd with oh this evening, after he's cooked our supper/tea/dinner/whatever it's called.0 -
Had quite a good OS day after all. Whilst wandering around market, I saw 2.75kg of lovely mushrooms going for £1.80! Will spend tomorrow making soups etc methinks
Also, when visiting mum and talking about curtains, she produced 16 metres of material she never got round to using, plus header tape, cotton etc. Will be plenty to make spare bedroom curtains (about 3 times over
) so have lots to practice on. She managed to pick it up for £1 per m but she's had it a while and the room she was going to make curtains for has been redecorated anyway. I've no excuse for not getting sewing machine out now.
Off to search for tips on curtain making...0 -
What is it with everyone making curtains at the minute?
My husband last week suddenly decided to familiarise himself with our sewing machine. Then bought some dirt cheap material that matched our bathroom. Today he made us a lovely pair of curtains just for the bathroom window (wouldn't want to frighten the neighbours with the light on and no curtains!). Really good for a first attempt!
Picked raspberries from the garden today. Already washed and frozen in the freezer. Tomato plants coming along nicely.
Am going shopping tomorrow. Am being all organised... made a shopping list i am going to stick to. Worked out how much it'll cost and sorted out a loads of coupons to use against the shop. Hopefully the shop should be quite cheap - good job as i need to buy a new vacuum cleaner this month :mad:0 -
Good morning
Today looks like being another fun day, but this time, in an arty-crafty kind of day
As tomorrow is American Independance Day, we're planning to have a special American themed tea but we need to prepare some of it today. The boys will be making some bunting using some of the red, white and blue paper from some of the older school news letters (I set them by when I was having a paperwork day recently instead of shredding them). Haven't decided on the "menu" yet, but d9yo is going to "research" that bit and he's already decided that we *must* have proper Coke because that originates from the States(any excuse for him to have this rare treat!), and d11yo would like hotdogs
Popped into Asda on our way home yesterday and they had Bloomers for 15; nabbed 3 and popped them in the freezer because there is no way I can make bread for that price.
No Sunday dinner to cook, I have some roast beef slices in the freezer, plus some yorkshire puddings, plus some mash and beef stock for gravy ... all that needs to be done is ..... reheat :j :j :j
Have a super Sunday~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

morning queenie!
your "american independance" themed tea sounds wonderful and a great excuse to get the kids involved in prep, cooking etc....i am trying with my two eldest boys 9 and 7 to get them to cook as can you believe i left home at 17 unable to cook a bean! my mum hated us in the kitchen!!! my poor husband had to endure really awful food until i had mastered the basics oh dear:( i am determined my boys will leave home being able to cook, run a home, so a household budget and all cleaning tasks!!!
i have a day of ironing ahead, and a few adjustments on my budget, bake a fruit loaf for tea and we will have roast lamb for lunch (my fav!).
i love sundays!!! i potter all day!!!
have a good one all
