well, I was on the internet all day yesterday applying for jobs (internet application forms take SO long - I wish people would just go back to good old CV's - I can knock them up in minutes) and ended up finishing at about 1am, after id simply got sick and tired of viewing rental properties online, and arguing with our friend as to the location of said property as he refuses to move out of town, and I refuse to live in town...(boyf and I are moving in with a mutual freind - we then have more money for place which means more space for all of their music equiptment  ).

We have now compromised though, there is a little village called Weston which is really close to town, has plenty of local amenities, and there is no dreaded permit parking in the area - and ive found 3 gorgeous little 3 bed terrace style cottages, all with lovely little gardens, so I can put all my veg pots out!! Yey!! Organised a viewing for one next week, so im looking forward to that. :D

Today I intend to go and get ready (im sleeping till quite late at the moment) as I intend to go out and exhaust myself so I fall asleep earlier, the weather is pretty nice so Im going to go to the garden centre and get a bag of composty stuff, and a massive pot, as my garlic has grown to 6 inches high in just three days, and is spewing its little roots out of the bottom, clearly, he is demanding more space! (Is anyone else crazy enough to give their plants a sex?? My garlic is male, but the Lemon trees are female).

Im also thinking about going to buy a bread maker, but I might well leave that until next week when ive fully decided what I want. When I get back, I intend to have a good clean of the study, ive made a bit of a mess, and the kitchen needs going over too. Probably salmon and new pots with salad or veg for dinner, so I need to defrost a pack.

Aside from that, if there is time, I might do some more packing, and a bit more cleaning. Im going to try and avoid house hunting or job hunting today - I need a break!

    Have a lovely day all!

    Jo xx

Today is the day I clean out the fridge - last week DH found a bowl of mouldy poultry fat in it which he claims was left over from the Xmas turkey:eek:. I'm sure he must be wrong about that :o.

And thanks to Freecycle someone's coming round later today to collect the old freezer. At least it's a start to getting the cellar cleared.

A lazy day today for us, shopping is all done, washing blowing in the sunshine and tennis to listen to while reclining in the garden.
Shall be thinking of you tomorrow PP, ((hugs)) try not to worry too much and make the most of the rest. Make sure Mr PP keeps us up to date.
Good luck with the job hunting Jo.

Best wishes and loads of hugs to PP! I am waiting for an op, hopefully it will be keyhole but they might not be able to do that so I could end up with a big hole! Am fairly terrified, but I don't have to think about it yet... sorry that probably doesn't help! :o But I will be thinking of you!

Just looking at the PYO site, I remember a big one we had near us as a kid! I think we ate more than we put in the punnets!

Otherwise am pottering too! there is washing on the line but am keeping a close eye as it is a bit grim! If you see wimbledon being rained off I will probably be dashing out to pull it all in! (am within about 5 miles I guess)... trying to kick (not literally) next doors cat out of the kitchen, I have never fed him but he likes to wander in from time to time!

Ooh think I have found a PYO that is quite close! :j Anyway, best wishes to everyone... Hope you all get a chance ot have a bit of a sunday laze!
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!

I arrived at my parents' house this morning and was greeted by a welcoming committee - 2 out of 4 cats demanding breakfast (someone else has been feeding them until I could turn up)! Then the dog arrived as she'd been living with my grandma for a few days. After a lovely walk down the lane I decided to pop to Tesco to get some provisions for the week. I'd been left a whole store cupboard, but nothing fresh.

Now, it must be the comparison in areas but where I live permanently has not so fantastic yellow sticker offers. Tesco here was FANTASTIC! I've got a caesar salad for tonight for 36p! I won't starve this week, that's for sure. When I was shopping, the family in front of me had their trolley just full of processed foods. Now, I know that I'm guilty of having some processed foods (show me someone who isn't) but their trolley was horrendous - they evidently don't visit this forum:D And then they paid for their whole shopping using the clubcard vouchers. I nearly pointed out that they could have had a lovely holiday using the vouchers - or quite a few days out - or a nice meal. :D I'm so nosey!

Anyway, I've got to put up with the slowest internet connection in the world this week. Well, nearly. My parents are still on dial-up as broadband hasn't hit the area yet. I've come prepared for this though - I stocked up on plenty of books from the local library before I came!

Thinking about you, PP, for your trip to hospital. Take care. :)

The usual busy OS Sunday here ... I love them!

First thing, car booting. Got eldest student daughter 2 new lamps and a rug for her room, and some baking utensils. I got a Readers Digest Farmhouse Cookery Book (50p) and a lovely large ceramic mixing bowl (£2) along with some lemons and strawberries. Half the strawberries are now in the dehydrator.

This afternoon I've been setting a batch of yogurt off in the bargain of last week (Bel Yoghurt maker) and teaching youngest daughter how to make butterfly buns (using the Bero cook book of course ;)).

Dinner is in the oven and the smell is driving me nuts! It won't be ready for an hour!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

My neighbours have started their barbecue and suddenly I'm starving hungry.

There ought to be a bye-law that says you're not allowed to have a barbecue unless you invite all the neighbours down wind of you!

    :)

Squeaky: Or you could be like the woman who lives 'round the back of us. We had one and she tracked down where the smoke etc was coming from and then shouted over the back gardens (how common  !) that she'd "had washing out and it was ruined. Did you not think on a nice day people might be doing their washing!" Er, perhaps she should have sniffed the air before she put it out and as it was a nice day did she not think people might have a bbq? OH was very calmn - I was ready to poke her eyes out with a bagette...... as I said to OH - like she's going to notice that smoke has made that washing go grey - miaow........ :D

Dinner this evening is two of the chump chops from the freezer from asda that we got for 50p per pack of two, mash, new season carrots from my lovely greengrocers and fruit and ice cream - it was going to be gooseberry crumble and i was going to bake but (a) tennis (b) sewing and (c) i've used up all the sugar making HM lemonade and forgot it off my list. will be giving OH a list to go to asda with tomorrow morning - where he will also be getting an application form to stack shelves at night.........

right off back to my crime channel and sewing now - ta ta
