    Good Morning

Raining here, has been for the past few hours, but it's lovely and "fresh" so I'm not complaining :D

The boys have made their bunting and drawn stars on the blue bits and strips on the white bits, the red bits are staying plain. I've hung them up and it's looking quite good (even if I do say so myself LOL ) We also made some lanterns from tin cans to hang from the pergola and the boys had great fun punching star shapes in them ;)

D9yo made a batch of popcorn for tonight (and for his packed lunch today). Between the boys they decided on HM burgers (I'll be making the rolls in the BM later) which are now sitting in the fridge ready for tonight, coleslaw and .... fries! We've compromised on the fries ... I'm making crinkle cut chips instead ... ... must dust down the deep fat fryer :o Tonight they will make muffins so they are nice and fresh :D I need to pop to Asda to get some root beer too.

I have some "Everyday" biscuit dough in the fridge which I'll cook up and ice appropriately.

Today I need to attack the dining/computer/hobby/family room - no, it's not a big room, it's merely .... ... multifunctional (and a mess :o ) It always seems to need a good going over on a Monday.

    Enjoy your Monday

Today I'm going to be very old style - I'm doing 3 loads of washing BY HAND

The washer drum will not move so I was left with clothes with washing powder all over them but not washed properly

I might be very un-old style later and go to the shop for a big bar of choc.

Queenie have a great day, I'm a bit jealous :D

If you can hear the sound of the motor spinning (when it's supposed to be) it'll be either a broken belt or even that the belt has just slipped slipped off. That's easy to sort out. If you can't hear the motor then you're in for an expensive repair.

Thanks Squeaks :D We checked everything, it's the programmer. The cheapest I can find is £85+VAT, by the time I've paid someone to come out and fix it, I may as well buy a new cheapy machine.

BTW, have you got a mangle I can borrow? :rotfl:

    Morning!

Im up early for me today, as Im off to earn a bit of spare cash - all in the name of science. Its raining here too - not particularly pleasant, but id rather that than too much heat.

I intend to go do the food shopping today, and I think ill read, but apart from that, there isnt much else to do for a change!

    Anyway, must dash!!

Programmers are FUN to fit. Honest :)

I once had a machine that spun when it should be washing, ignored the fill levels, heated more often than it diidn't... the guy had refitted the programmer himself and made a right mess of it. By the time I'd sorted out all the wrong connections I also knew what his real problem was.

He'd been a month without a washer while he sourced a timer, another week fitting it and trying to sort out the problems before finally calling us out.

    His original problem?

A bra underwire in the pump :)

Mangle? I don't got no steenkin' mangle :)

Edit: Is it Old Style to do the dishes in the bath and rinse tham all with the shower hose?

    Hi everybody!

Apparently OSers have a new name.... was reading in my (free) paper this morning... "Pravs" a new breed of shopper who snubs designer labels and boasts about how much they save! Pravs are "proud realisers of Added Value"!

apparently three-quarters of britons are pravs and only 6% are chav like.... Teletext survey claims.

Mind you I would have thought that teletext was pretty old style! I'm not bery old style today, going to buy a sarnie (occasional treat), and spoil myself a bit. :D

Hope you enjoy that... love the news paper, means I can enjoy my morning in peace secluded behind it like everyone else does.
