Rage_in_Eden wrote:Squeaky: Or you could be like the woman who lives 'round the back of us. We had one and she tracked down where the smoke etc was coming from and then shouted over the back gardens (how common  !) that she'd "had washing out and it was ruined. Did you not think on a nice day people might be doing their washing!" Er, perhaps she should have sniffed the air before she put it out and as it was a nice day did she not think people might have a bbq? OH was very calmn - I was ready to poke her eyes out with a bagette...... as I said to OH - like she's going to notice that smoke has made that washing go grey - miaow........
But the poor er, lady, might have put her washing out before your barbie and just not been quick enough to get it back in...
I suggest you get a tall step ladder thingy and check all the neighbour's gardens before your next one:rotfl:

Pleasant day all round today and just about to tuck into Roast Chicken, new pots, and veggies cooked by my live-in "chef" (ie OH). As well as being quite productive (car cleaning, 3 loads of laundry, OH's sandwiches for the week in the freezer), managed to go out again for a walk - when I say walk - I mean very short amble to see the ducks.0

Nope it wasn't out when we started it - our kitchen step is quite high and we can see over the fences (what with the gardens at the back sloping down to the river mersey etc....). No, she's known for it (she also puts notes on people's cars if they park infront of her house apparently! Thankfully she lives 'round the corner so we never park 'round there......)But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Evening all - today was a great relaxing day.
Up and out to a boot fair - managed to pick up some pastie moulds for 50p for 3 different sizes - was looking at getting some from lidl this week, so that's saved me a trip to town!
Not very OS but found a really nice oil painting that we fell in love with - so splashed out £18 on it.....just got to find somewhere to hang it now!
Went off for a picnic on the cliffs, nice homemade sarnies (bread from my new sparkly breadmaker :j ) had a wander along the beach and picked up half a carrier bag full of shells to use for some arty project during the school hols...then off to the local PYO for a few hours of strawberry eating......oooh I mean picking!! Got gooseberries, redcurrants, cherry and raspberries too.....just got to find some good receipes for redcurrants now!! Kids really enjoyed themselves trying to out-do each other with the filling of the punnets. I'd forgotton just how nice it is to do something so simple.
Came home and had a good whip round with a damp cloth and a hoover to get ready for work in the morning.
Hope you all had a good one."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
We spent all afternoon looking round the villages best kept gardens, it being garden open day. Mrs MATH and I had a bit of a giggle about how 'Midsommer' our village is and garden open days are but we managed to drag three kidz round them all, consume a cream tea, peruse some wood turned objects, jams, preserves, home-made cakes and get home without falling over one dead body:D
Having looked round these most impressive gardens what has made me most happy is after a little trip round my own patch we could easily open ours next year and hold our heads up with the best of them.;)Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

Hi All,
I took my DS to a local country gala (Bromyard Gala) with my dad today. My mum won free tickets on the radio, so it was nice not paying to get in. DS was very grumpy, but enjoyed the small animals on show. Managed to get my washing dried nad my rubbish put out for tomorrow. No rest for the wicked:). I also had a go at doing some pears in mulled wine as an Xmas pressie. If anyone wants the recipe let me know and I'll post it for you.
