Morning Queenie
Been up since 4am worrying-going into hospital tomorrow and really dont want to go, but have too. So Ive been preparing as much as possible for at least the next 7 days
Enough food etc to last 3 weeks..lol All finances in order for at least 3 weeks and have written up a rough 20min Clean Blitz that he has to do daily-to keep on top of stuffIf not it will get on top of him and we all need a routine and I will rest better knowing my home is OK
Anyway still in a ton of pain, but have managed to 2 loads (on line) another in WM, dishwasher emptied, kitchen cleaned, bacon butty & coffee, breaky for OH & DD, lounge cleaned & leg of lamb on for a nice full roast later(lamb, roasties, HM yorkies, new pots, carrots, sweetcorn, stuffing, gravy & mint sauce)-yummy-wont be able to eat much, but I'll try
Got to get a few parcels wrapped-sold on ebay and need to be sent first thing, get hospital bag ready, another washload to do, bath with hubbys help
Anyway, anyhting Ive forgotten-please let me know!
Thanks

your "american independance" themed tea sounds wonderful and a great excuse to get the kids involved in prep, cooking etc....i am trying with my two eldest boys 9 and 7 to get them to cook as can you believe i left home at 17 unable to cook a bean! my mum hated us in the kitchen!!! my poor husband had to endure really awful food until i had mastered the basics oh dear:( i am determined my boys will leave home being able to cook, run a home, so a household budget and all cleaning tasks!!!
Jamie, my eldest 3 (all now in their 20's) were routinely taught how to cook, clean, iron, budget basics and shopping savvy. They *hated* it when they became teens ( no surprise) but were soon glad of the knowledge/skills when it came to living independantlyThe trick is, to teach them now, because you don't stand a chance when the raging hormones kick in during their teens.

Aww, sorry to hear that you're having sleepless nights full of worry.
When my SIL was facing an op I bought her a meditation CD to listen to a couple of weeks before hand ... she found it soooo helpful that she not only took it to hospital with her, but asked if she could wear her walkman down to the theatre!!
Even if you don't have a meditation cd or don't hold with that idea, do you have some favourite, calming music you could listen to today? Take some time out to indulge yourself. I'll have my fingers X'd for you ((hugs))~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope all goes well PP, these things are always worse in the anticipation than the actuality so have faith & let DH take the strain for a while when you get back;) We'll be thinking of you.
Kitchen is all cleaned, washing is done & upto date, bathroom is sparkly, plan to have a quick whip round tidy as "stuff" just seems to be starting to pile up in corners everywhere, nothing major but odd bits & peices which are aggravitng me! Then I want to plant up some pots for our our front garden, gave in yesterday & went to a garden centre which I usually avoid like the plague 'cos they are so expensive, but I needed some Lillibet-proof plants which will survive my administrations, hopefully they will prove a good invesntment in the long run as I won't keep killing them & need to replace them:rolleyes: An easy dinner tonight, we are having oddments from the freezer so no cooking fo rme today:beer:
Anyway, off to make gurmpy hubby waffles for breakfast in an attempt to put him in a better mood:p
Have a good day everyone:DPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
It's our village Open Gardens Day and the weather looks set to be pretty good. So we are having an out and about day.
Church this morning, then trawling the open gardens, partaking of cream teas and strawberries and cream where pressed to do so;) . Church this evening and then back home for dinner. Tonight we're having cold new potatoes, cold roast chicken, salad and HM bread is already to dish up when we get home so no more work today:j Have a good day everyone. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow Penny Pincher (((Hug)))Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

(((hugs))) to PP. Hope all goes OK.
Today is a 'do as little as I can day'. It's the men's finals today as well as a GP I believe. May have to do the ironing when they are on though or DS's will just jump on me anyway.
Told Mr TM I was going watch Wimbledon and he said 'WHAT? - there's cleaning to be done. You watched it yesterday!' He was joking, but I told him why did he waste his time watching Live8 when he could just have listened to a couple of CD's
First load needs to go on line but I don't want to scare the neighbours as I'm still in my Snoopy jimjamsSo, will put another load on now and then have shower before venturing down the garden. Looks like we're in for a lovely day too.
No idea what's for tea - will have a think whilst I'm showering. Probably chicken.
Oh, Poo. Just remembered the cupboards are a bit bare on essentials like milk and bread so will have to venture out too0 -

Hang in there PP. As somebody who's worked in the NHS for, ahem, nearly 20 years I have to say it really annoys me people are admitted without it being made clear what they're going in for. And then the medics wonder why people are stressed when they see them  Anyway, hope all goes well for you. big hugs xxxx
OH is mopping the kitchen floor as we speak  no, i don't know why he's decided to do this eitherI've decided that I am going to make some jam this year so I'm off surfing for a local PYO - I know where there is one vaguely but I have to find out details - no doubt it will be in the cheap days out thread/link on here - now all i have to do is find that!!!!
Queenie: I had completely forgot that tomorrow is American Independence Day. I think I may make some burgers or meatloaf in celebration. OH seemed keen on meatloaf the other day so perhaps I will have a bash - but burgers sound nicer!! OH even made dinner last night (spag bol) although he did HAVE to go out to the local late shop for ingredients (why?) and then used 3 pans to make it  On looking at the receipt today I didn't know tortilla chips and cans of carling went into a spag bol
AND as my foot still hurts I shall be taking it easy so I am fully rested for work tomorrow - boo - although I have been emailed to tell me that there are two more private tapes landing on my desk tomorrow!!! Question: do these earnings count as pin money? OH drove past our house yesterday in the white rolls royce - looked like the cat with the cream - i did the dutiful wife bit and took a photo!!!! :rotfl: ah bless his little cotton socks! But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
